Guest guest
Good Day Brothers and Sisters, Its Tuesday, 2nd February 2010 The World's Biggest Baingan Bharta just got bigger – and it could end up in the Limca Book of Records! In only 48 hours, we smashed our target of 10,000 brinjals. So we've set a new goal of 20,000 brinjals. The World's Biggest Baingan Bharta will help persuade Jairam Ramesh to save the brinjal and at the same time feed thousands of hungry people in Delhi. Can you help by forwarding this email to your friends, family and colleagues? Here's the link to the petition: http://greenpeace. in/safefood/ the-biggest- baingan-bharta- ever/ The original email is below. Thanks a billion! Jai Click here to add your name to the petition: "India should not allow our brinjals to be contaminated by corporations with American interests." Dear Right now, Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh is deciding if he'll allow corporations with American interests to genetically engineer India's King of Vegetables—the brinjal. The U.S.-backed companies say the Bt Brinjal will be free from pests, but Indian farmers have successfully grown brinjal for thousands of years without this toxic gene. Here's an exciting new way to persuade Mr. Ramesh to protect India's brinjal: We're going to make the World's Biggest Baingan Bharta, in Delhi! Can you help make a world record? The baingan bharta will have one brinjal for every person who signs our petition. We will present the names of all the signers to Mr. Ramesh. Our goal is 10,000 brinjals. Add a brinjal by signing our petition today: http://greenpeace. in/safefood/ the-biggest- baingan-bharta- ever The petition says: "India should not allow our brinjals to be contaminated by corporations with American interests." Ask your friends and family to add a brinjal to the World's Biggest Baingan Bharta—and protect Indian brinjal from toxic tampering. Just forward this email. Bt Brinjal is created with U.S. technology that inserts the gene of a bacterium into brinjals. The gene causes the Bt Brinjal to produce toxins. But there are no studies proving that Bt Brinjal is safe for human consumption. In fact, rats fed on Bt Brinjal had diarrhoea and liver weight decrease. If Bt Brinjal is grown in India, it could contaminate traditional brinjal farms as well, thus tainting India's food supply forever. But there's still time for Jairam Ramesh to stop corporations from poisoning our brinjals. Can you help protect Indian brinjal? Click below to sign our petition to Mr. Ramesh and add a brinjal to the World's Biggest Baingan Bharta: http://greenpeace. in/safefood/ the-biggest- baingan-bharta- ever Thanks a billion!
