Guest guest
This is BOUND to happen. It is not a guess or speculation. Put away some Rice and Beans and whatever you can. Rice and beans together make a complete protein, so even if we can’t buy meat, it isn’t that important. Then you will have some basic supplies for when this does happen. Rice and beans keep forever with no refrigeration or special storage. Get a variety, and at least you won’t get tired of the same thing, IF and WHEN this does happen, you will at least have some fall back supplies. And it IS coming…just a matter of when.Jan__________ Food prices to skyrocket as supplies plunge Food prices to skyrocket as supplies plunge, low inventories, lack offarmers brings on 'perfect storm' Posted: December 11, 2009 In arecent report on the state of the economy, the New York Times said foodstamps are being used by a record number one in eight Americans and onein four children. At the same time, food banks run by churches are beingoverrun with requests for help. And if that isn't troubling enough, other data point to a much darker future.According to the NationalInflation Association, food costs are about to skyrocket. Officials citeagricultural commodities which have remained at historically low levelsdespite a worldwide shortage of farmers and record low food inventories. They equate this to a "perfect storm" that could bring about a dramaticrise in food prices. Some Americans have observed the warning signsand are making emergency plans. Patrick Thompson, of Charleston, S.C.,read the writing on the wall and began researching what it would take tohave a family garden that would produce enough food to supply hisfamily's year-round nutritional needs. "I read how Germanyaccumulated a bunch of debt between the two world wars, tried to managethe crisis by printing money wildly, and the result was hyperinflationin food prices. Obama is doing the same thing, and I'm worried that itwill take my entire paycheck to buy just a few days' food. I bought thebest quality seeds I could find and we have begun our own crisisgarden." Bill Heid, the CEO of Solutions from Science which ownsSurvivalSeedbank.com < http://survivalseedbank.com/> , says Thompson'sanalysis of history is prescient. "History has shownrepeatedly...more than enough natural resources to feed the entireworld," he said. "But governments manipulate the markets and get entireclasses of people dependent on welfare so they can control us bycontrolling the food supply. Our company is based on the concept thatfamilies should be self-sufficient and always have a reliable foodsupply." SurvivalSeedbank.com < http://survivalseedbank.com/> provides high-quality, open pollinated seeds that can produce enoughfood to feed an entire family on just an acre of land. Unlike the seedsused by most agri-business firms in the U.S., the seeds are notgenetically modified in any way. "These seeds are grown in remoteplots of land, far from the prying eyes of the big hybrid seedcompanies, and have been hand-picked for their germination rate, nutritional density and of course, storage life," said Heid. The ideaof returning to the days when most families had their own garden in theback yard might have been laughable just a few years ago, but trendexperts point out that the combination of rising food prices, aneconomic collapse and a cultural crisis brought on by unprecedentedgovernment intrusions into daily life may lead to food riots in Americancities. Gerald Celente, famous for predicting the 1987 stock marketcrash, the fall of the Soviet Union and the current economic crisis, says the economic situation within the next three years could become sograve that living standards could drop dramatically. Heid points outthat the political left isn't the only threat to food supplies; thecontemporary just in time delivery system, designed to keep inventorieslow and profits high, also means that the slightest disruption to thesupply lines can result in food shortages. "We saw it with Katrinaand whenever there is a natural disaster, even if it is relatively minorand localized; the grocery store shelves will be empty in as little as72 hours, and the situation will be aggravated if there is advancewarning and people panic beforehand," he said. The elderly would beamong the first to suffer, since so many live on fixed incomes. In fact, they already are suffering disproportionately from the crisis. CatholicCharities USA reports that the number of seniors seeking food assistancefrom local food banks is up more than 54 percent in the last 12 months,a shocking number if in fact the real crisis has yet to begin. PatrickThompson believes he has the answer. "Even the elderly can manage asmall garden that will provide fresh, nutritious, great-tasting food. With a crisis garden you'll never be dependent on the government oragri-business again. Whether its government rationing, a naturaldisaster or just sky-high prices, my family will always have enough foodon the table," he said.Source:http://groups.google.combible-prophecy-news/browse_thread/thread/\70631ad691d9196c < http://groups.google.combible-prophecy-news/browse_thread/thread\/70631ad691d9196c> # ( Deborahs Note: For many U.S.A. people the darkfuture has already been here for many decades. Not only has there been aworsening of the collapse of civilization resulting in more corurptionand violent brutal atrocity human deaths, some landlords will not allowfood growing. That reminds me of Zimbabwe where many farmers were drivenoff their farm land, prevented from growing food crops, and evenmurdered, which resulted in a food shortage. At rental homes in houses,tri-plexes, and duplexes there is land yard space to enable foodgrowing, but some landlords prevent that. Those landlords may beimmigrants from Africa, but they may have been born in the U.S.A. Although the U.S.A. founders intended for their posterity (descendants)to have life, for which food is required, since some landlords preventfood growing, local legislation is needed to make laws to requirelandlords to allow food growing wherever that is possible, whether inyards, porches, patios, and inside homes. I am not on the payroll forthe companies below, but considering that there have already beendroughts, floods, and freezes destroying much U.S.A. food crops as wellas new law changes like in California where many farmers were preventedfrom being farmers so that some little fish could have the water thatwas previously used for farming, more of such realities will result in anear future U.S.A. food shortage, I have decided to forward these links:1.
