Dear All,Dr. Jayanta Bandyopadhyay has been nominated for the Spirit of Excellence IITK @ 50 Award in the preliminary round. Details of the nomination and selection process has been  explained by the President IITK Alumni Association in the following forwarded msg.

I am making a personal appeal to all those who are IITK Alumni to kindly vote for Dr Jayanta Bandopadhyaya who has been a friend of mine at IITK since 1966. We were together in the same Dept of Metallurgical Engg. of IITK and spent almost about 8 years together. We have continued our relationship as before because he and I both left Metallurgy and shifted to Env. Mgt.

Dr Bandyopadhyay has not only reached very high professional standards internationally but also has been a sincere, dedicated Environmentalist with high credibility at the grass-roots level. He is a human being always ready to help those who need his help.

In view of this I appeal to all of you IITK Alumni to vote for him.--

2009/12/3Voting begins for IITK@50 Alumni Awardsvnsh44Dear Vijayanand Sharma,Honoring the Spirit of Excellence of IIT Kanpur

We thank you for the overwhelming support that was received for the nomination process for IITK @ 50, and hope to receive the same support for arriving at the final selection of 50 Alumni. After receiving over 180 nominations (including recipients of

Distinguished Alumnus Award and Satyendra K Dubey Memorial Award from IITK), the Alumni Association Board narrowed it down to about 165 nominations, which are now up for alumni-wide voting. While selecting the final 50 from a long list of prominent alumni may seem

like a daunting task, we were struck by the vast range of areas in which the IIT Kanpur alumni have excelled. This compilation of Alumni achievements is quite remarkable. As you cast your votes for up to 50 alumni, do

consider their achievements, their contributions to society and to IIT Kanpur. The top 50 voted alumni!

will be featured at the Alumni Convention on January 2-4, and will be honored at any or all of the three Golden Jubilee Alumni events planned next year. The Voting for the Final 50 starts now!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please visit the following link to cast your votes: _www.iitkalumni.org/voting/memberlogin.asp_ (http://www.iitkalumni.org/voting/memberlogin.asp)

A few rules to comply: 1. Each alumnus/alumna needs to be registered member of the Alumni Association, If not registered, please register at _http://www.iitkalumni.org/registration/_ (http://www.iitkalumni.org/registration/) (using your

first name and Roll number) 2. Each individual has up to 50 votes (one vote per nominee), which can be voted through logging in multiple times (You need not cast your 50 votes in one go). Please review your voting selections before you hit 'Submit'

button, as your votes submitted will be final. You will not be able t!

o change those votes. 3.If you vote for a nominee for whom yo

u have already submitted your vote in your previous login, that vote will not be added to his profile, i.e. one vote per person is only recorded, your 50 votes are for 50 different people.During this process the new votes that you have been selected with the already submitted votes will be valid and counted, you need not vote for these people again.

Please participate in the selection process by casting your votes. Your enthusiastic response is awaited. Abhay BhushanPresident, IIT Kanpur Alumni AssociationOn behalf of the IIT Kanpur Alumni Association Board
