(Notso) Rare side effects, unusual errors in dosages, multiple manufacturers of a variety of combinatitions of vaccine additives, no ability to sue for damages from vaccines, etc. etc.- the vaccine program is broken. Aside from the confusing scientific and pseudo-scientific babble about the swine flu and other flu vaccines, I don't think it is a good idea to to all this hysteria. Fire EMS spokesman Pete Piringer. It happened Wednesday morning at the Patricia Harris Center, now a fire department facility. D.C. paramedics administered the shots, which are being offered to the city's first responders. "We started receiving calls this morning from officers that had been contacted by the department and ordered to report to the [police and firefighters' clinic] for a follow up," explained Fraternal Order of Police chairman Kristopher Baumann. The officers were told they had received a double dose of the H1N1 vaccine in their single injections. Infectious disease researcher Peter Hotez at George Washington University believes the officers who got stronger than usual vaccinations will be fine.
