Pl. go through this and forward the Attached representation letter (Short or Long version) to the Dear Friend of the Rivers:  The Government has constituted a Ganga River Basin Authority. Nine non-official members have been included. List of members along with their email id and phone nos is attached.  I understand the first meeting of the Authority is scheduled on October 5th. I feel we must actively interact with the members and seek their intervention against indiscriminate expoitation of our rivers for generation of hydropower.  I attach a draft representation that may be sent by us to the members so that the issues are brought to their knowledge. I attach the representation in two versions. The long version is more detailed while the short version is crisp.  It would be wonderful if you can meet the members in your city in person and impress upon them the need to look seriously at these issues. I shall be thankful if you would send an appropriate representation to the members. Please feel free to modify the representation as per your understanding. If you may, please send me a copy of the representation sent by you for our record and future use. Thank you,  Bharat JhunjhunwalaLakshmoli, PO MalethaVia Kirti Nagar, Uttarakhand 249161Phone: 91-94111-09777/1378-26-4186-- Dr.V.N.Sharma http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Dr.V.N.Sharma " Those who have the privilege to know, have the duty to act.
