Guest guest
Every disease displays its own characteristic symptoms. Every disease impacts the body, mind, and emotions. The naming of AIDS and the fear phobia built around it has a severe effect on the victim. This applies to all diseases where the name itself evokes fear. As per The Mother of Puducherry, the moment you are afraid you open yourself to disease. We also should remember the feat of Florence Nightangle and her army of Nurses who protected theselves by their sympathy and love for their patients. In this time of economic slowdown the people are already depressed and fearful. Glamourising disease and spreading fear through the media is not the way to deal with any epidemic, particularly in troubled times. While energy healers are looked down at, in AIDS there is the symptom of loss of energy from cells. (I have lost my link to this. Can anyone provide please?) http://www.indiatogether.org/2009/aug/hlt-hivmind.htm Excerpt: The New Oxford Textbook of Psychiatry (Oxford University Press, ed. 2000) notes: "Patients infected with HIV are at an increased risk for a variety of mental disorders". These stem both from the direct infections of the central nervous system by the virus or from infections precipitated by the virus. In addition, the knowledge of a positive diagnosis will leave patients with intrusive, brooding thoughts, panic attacks, social isolation, verbal expressions of rage or feelings of desperation, altered behavior, depression and even suicidal tendencies.
