JOIN THE 'A REPORT CARD FOR OUR MPs' CONTEST Design a Report Card to assess Members of Parliament Win fabulous cash prizes: 1st prize - Rs 75,000 2nd prize - Rs 50,000 3rd prize - Rs 25,000 Many other prizes too! By 2015 India has pledged to achieve its Millennium Development Goals (MDGs): Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger Achieve universal primary education Promote gender equality and women's empowerment by eliminating gender disparity in schools Reduce the child mortality rate Reduce the maternal mortality rate Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases Ensure environment sustainability Develop global partnership for development How successful are our MPs in working towards these goals within their constituencies? How well do they perform their role as Members of Parliament? How well do they look after their constituencies? Think of the right parameters to assess an MP. What are the qualities they need to exhibit as people? How much time do they spend in their constituencies? What should their role be in Parliament? How aware are they about the urgent concerns facing their constituencies? Then design a Report Card as a tool that most accurately measures the performance of an MP HOW TO ENTER: To enter the contest, you should be between the ages of 18 to 35 years. A birth certificate and a statement certifying that the work submitted is your own would need to be enclosed with each entry. Entries marked (with personal details) "A Report Card For Our MPs" to be sent to Second Floor, G- 69, Nizamuddin West, New Delhi -110013 Each entry should carry personal details, like postal address, email id, phone numbers and institution to which you are attached, or are studying in.
