I would be careful on trying to buff amber. It isn't a stone. It's

petrified tree sap and if you get it too warm, it may disfigure and

fall out.

Thanks Rick...Yes, I know that it is petrified sap.... I am thinking that there

must be a certain process though. My piece is quite beautiful with several pine

seed fossils throughout... Thanks for your advice.

You might try taking it to a reputable and experienced jeweler/jewelry

maker. They may be able to polish it up without damaging it. It certainly

wouldn't

hurt to ask and you could ask how much it would cost before you commit to it.

Blessings to your day all.

Amber is also sold as a resin incense. You don't need to buy a quality piece

for burning.

Here is a link explaining the differences between Amber and Copal which is

frequently mistaken for and sold as Amber.

Copal is typically used as incense and is very similar to Amber.

Thank you but I am aware of the difference and quite frankly don't like the

smell of either one when burned as incense. The only resins I like are

frankincense, myrrh and dragons blood.

Dragons Blood and Frankincense make a wonderful combination (to me anyway)

for smudging crystals, my jewelry and rooms in the house. It is my protection

and purification blend. I am not overly partial to sage unless it is in

stuffing served with turkey and gravy heehee

I also got some Incensio (similar to Copal) from South America. It is

sweet, and brightens up the energy in my house. Haven't burned any

yet--just have some in a bowl--
