Clearing stones with sun (does window interfer)?

I like to use the sun or moonlight, but does putting them on a window

sill block the effects (especially when it's cold or hot outside and

it looks weird if you have a bunch of rocks just sitting outside...)

with the glass between the rocks and sun...

 

Can I instead visualize light around it with my mind to clear it?

Yes it will still work through the glass. Yes you can visualize light

around and clear your stones that way too.
