Dear Tina,

Thanks for your reply. I have noticed a real metallic taste at times. Is this

what you mean by bad? I mean really metallic, usually towards the bottom of the

glass. It's funny, I started out making citrine, with the intent to center me.

I would like to try and improve my intuition to help with diagnostics. One

morning I could've sworn that of piece of kyanite had been moved to the top of

my crystal dish. ( I never place the crystal in the glass, I place it on the

side and let energy flow through the crystal into the water.) Well anyway; I

kind of ignored this, thinking I was mistaken and maybe I was. The next morning

a piece of orange calcite was sitting out of the dish on our mantle. I looked!

Unless one of our cats climbed onto the mantle and knocked it off( which I

doubt). It was sitting in the dish the night before. So, I'm making an elixir

with orange calcite. I'm going to try the quartz point in my pocket again

tomorrow. If I leave it

on our dresser, do you think I need to place it under my pillow? Sometimes I

wake up at night and there's that heavy ringing in my ears and I can't sleep.

Thanks and peace,

Patti (turquoisefan)

[CrystalHW] Re: Questions from a beginner

Welcome to the group. :)

The answers are from me alone, I am sure others will have other

opinions and suggestions. :)

Your Q: Should you drink a whole glass or just a few drops of the

crystal elixir?

A: Either way is okay. It all depends upon you, or the person using

the elixir. I drink full glasses of crystal elixir and sometimes a

lot of them all day. There are days that I can tell that it is too

much and I drink less, sometimes only a few sips. I always tell

people to listen to their body, it will tell you if you are doing

more than you are ready to handle. It will also tell you when a

specific crystal elixir is finished. For me, the water tastes " bad "

or sometimes 'bitter'. And there is no change in the water, just the

way it tastes...no one wants to drink something that doesn't taste

good to them. So I use my sense of taste to help with that. I hope

that helps answer your question.

Your Q: Do you need to keep a quartz point on you all the time to

bond with it?

A: Simple answer, no you do not have to. You can keep it with you

for 2-3 days. Some quartz, especially clear points, can be a bit

overpowering in their energy when you first begin to work with it.

When you don't feel too good put it aside for a bit to see if you

begin to feel better. If you do feel better let it sit somewhere in

a room that you frequent often. It will still be affecting your

environment and you, but not as intensely as on your person. Also, I

have had to put some away and bring them out at a later date to work

with them again.

It can also be that the quartz was detoxing your body so drink plenty

of water. Anytime it feels like too much, back off for a bit and try

again later. Listen to what your body is telling you.

Blessings on your crystal journey....

Crystal Blessings,

Tina

Aloha Tina and All . . I get the impression by your writing that you are using a

crystal glass as a container for your water. Crystal glass is not the same as

quartz crystal and if that is what you are using may explain the 'bad' taste.

Crystal glass has a high lead content and should never be used for beverage

containment or food preparationl. Metals and minerals can leach out of

individual pieces and my preference is to use those that I know are non-toxic in

polished form. Hope this is helpful. . .In Light )'( Skye

Jasper is associated with the Vernal Equinox, but any green stones

work too. If you're doing any magickal workings within your rite

though, I would use a crystal specific to that purpose as well.

Dear Skye Coe,

Thanks for the info. I don't use crystal glass, just plain libbey type glass.

I tried my hand at placing a crystal in a plain glass bowl with water out in the

sun yesterday.

A completely different taste for me. It's overcast here today, though. Can you

still place the crystal and bowl of water outside on an overcast day?

Peace,
