Guest guest
I am glad my reply helped. You asked: < " How does a practitioner justify giving a mixed treatment when a person comes for a particular treatment whether it be Pranic, Crystal Healing, Reiki, etc? And asks for one modality and one modality only. " > If a person comes in for a specific treatment in just one modality you honor their request. You can suggest another form of treatment to go along with the current one asked for, OR you suggest that they do it at another time/day. There is nothing wrong with mixing modalities, but we have to communicate and listen to the person receiving the treatment session. If a client decides to try, as an example, Reiki and crystals, once you have added the crystals to Reiki ask them how they are doing and really listen to their answer. Ask them if it is too much. Sometimes you need to change the crystals that are being used and sometimes it needs to stop because it is too intense for that individual. It is that simple. COMMUNICATE and LISTEN! What many " healers " forget is that even though they are the channel for the healing, the only person who knows if they can take that much healing energy at once is the person who came for help in the first place. When a " healer " thinks that they know what is best for you and they do not consult you or stop when asked then it becomes a problem and reflects poorly on all others who do this type of healing responsibly. Usually when this happens there is an ego problem with the 'healer' that is at the center of the whole issue. I always suggest to others that before you begin any treatment session that they talk with the client, let them know what different modalities they offer. Let them know how others have responded to the different healing modalities. Talk to them about using more than one modality at once. Let them know the risks. No matter what healing modality you use there can be a 'healing crisis' that takes place. It helps to know that it may happen, as well as it is a common thing and once it passes and they work through the issue causing the 'healing crisis' then they can progress greatly in their healing. It really all goes back to Communication and Listening. And in the instance you mentioned... It was stated that a REIKI healing session would be taking place. And that is all there should have been. HOWEVER, there are many forms of Reiki. Maybe it would have been best to offer those there different forms of Reiki, or just make it known to all that were performing the Reiki treatment that only plain Reiki without any other healing energies added were allowed to be used unless the client was consulted first. With that said--though many may disagree with this statement, the lady experienced something she had brought into her life. Now she already knew what the three healing modalities felt like and was okay with those. Which shows that on their own, at least for her, she would benefit. And now she knows for a fact that what she BELIEVED already was proven as a fact: that she is not ready to deal with that combination. Possibly, if she had only been treated with two of the healing modalities at a time she would have benefited from them. The main issue for her now will be whether or not she will trust someone to help her with alternative healing treatments again or not. For so many people to see such a 'healing crisis' there should have been an impromptu discussion on 'healing crisis'. That may have helped out a bit with the fear that was invoked in many of the people watching who may, or may not, look into alternative healing modalities in the future. As for your sister.... If she was assured that if something was not feeling right to her that she can speak up and the 'healer' would stop, then maybe it would help with her fears about a 'healing crisis'. If she tried the modalities one at a time she would learn which ones were helpful for her. Then maybe she could try more than one at the same time. I think many people fear the 'healing crisis' because they see it as a bad thing. Whereas I do not. It may not be pleasant to go through, but in the end much is released and changes are made and health is better, or at least on a correct path toward better health. One of My experiences.... Let me tell you about a 'healing crisis' that I went through. Now this happened was when I was being attuned to Usui Reiki, the first Reiki form for me. I was very unhappy at my job, and I was sick a lot. And yet I couldn't see myself changing jobs because of the benefits that were there. Well, on top of going through flu like symptoms for a few days after the attunement...I lost my job and had to move out of where we were staying within a week with literally only $30.00 in my pocket for the move. Bad thing...at the time I was overwhelmed and it felt horrible. I was angry that this had happened. But in the end, my health improved greatly because I was not at the job that I refused to leave even though it was making me terribly unhappy and ill. So what I had viewed as bad, in retrospect was actually a good thing. When I tell this story people get a look of fear on their faces. Then I remind them that was my 'healing crisis' and that many do not go through things such as job loss. I was not listening to the Universe/Divine when I had asked for a sign. I do tell clients that many do have flu like symptoms for a few days and that is just toxins in their body, so drink plenty of water. I also let them know that I have been attuned to a variety of Reiki forms and I did not go through a 'healing crisis' with each one. In fact, most of them had none. And none of them so dramatic as when I lost my job and had to move. Crystal Blessings, Tina
Guest guest
Tina, Thank you for that. I am currently in school, working towards my massage license. When I am giving massages, Reiki turns on almost automatically. My mentor also just suggested using selenite at the clients feet might be beneficial to them. While all my massage clients, so far, are aware that they are also getting a dose of Reiki, I have been wondering about using crystals as well. I think this is something I'm going to want to to with some of my clients. But I'm also thinking I need to have a talk with them beforehand. deb w. Tina <seafyrelove wrote: I am glad my reply helped. It was voiced at the beginning that at the conclusion of the day, there would be hands on Reiki and only hands on Reiki nothing else.So how hard is that for practitioners to understand. As for the healing crisis, it was not an appropriate time or place to be discussing what had and was going on,with the lady in question with out her permission, the lady was highly embarrassed as it was. I believe she will continue, but will make sure in the future that it is one healing modality at a time not all 3 at once. I to like you Tina have been attuned to different forms of Reiki and come form a family of Crystal healers as well as other forms of healing, so I enjoy other peoples views on things and it gives my students another points of view to think about. As for my sister she is an academic,{ she's the weird one in the family. lol} so if you can't see it or smell it, it ain't happening.lol. Her friends refer to me as the one that does those strange things, we all laugh. Sunshine & Smiles to you all. Tall Black Cat.
Guest guest
I am a massage Therapist I often mix modalities and that is how I do my massage. I will mix mix aromatherapy, Reflexology, energy and occasionally a Hurley to finish off, sometimes I will add stones, I allow the energy to guild me. I listen for cue's from the client and often will alert them I feel the need to add a modality to their care. I have no problem adding a modality in if it is needed, I know with all my being that they are needed and will enhance and increase the benefits from what I am doing. When I do chair massage I do energy sweeps, reike and some other modalities and then start the massage. I don't see anything wrong with it at all, but then maybe I don't understand the question or havent seen all of the comment. hope this helps -- Have a Happy and Keep Smiling TTFN Angelina Thelin
