In Light )'( Skye http://www.crystalsandjewelry.com/metaphysicalproperties_r.html Ruby in Fuschite Ruby in Fuschite brings together the energies of ruby and fuschite and creates a synergy that is more than the sum of the parts. Ruby in Fuschite does, of course, have properties of both the Ruby and the Fuschite that comprise it. But as a conglomerate stone, it also has additional metaphysical properties lore. Ruby in Fuschite is especially known in the mystic as balancing stimulation with intuition, making it a great stone for psychic work in a very powerful way. It can also bring a great deal of awareness of problems of all kinds, whether emotional stress, social issues, lifestyle or physical health, and use this awareness to find solutions. Ruby in Fuschite is also said to help one understand Love at a Higher level. Physically, in crystal healing lore, Ruby in Fuschite is said to be helpful with ailments where body functions are out of balance, carpal tunnel syndrome, blood and spleen issues, and virility. Ruby in Fuschite is also said to be helpful when used in groups of multiple stones for crystal healing to amplify the healing energies of the stones. Guest guest
Hi Skye Coe, Rubellite is of the tourmaline family...it is red tourmaline and can be pink as well. It has more colors than any other gemstone. Ruby, of course is the sister gem of blue sapphire and belong to the corundum mineralogical family. Corundums exist in a wide range of colours. They consist of aluminium oxide crystals containing impurities which dote them with their various tints: titanium and iron for the blue of the sapphire, chromium and vanadium for the red of rubies. Guest guest
For clarification (and even I spelled it incorrectly earlier) FUCHSITE (not Fuschite) is the correct spelling. Also, I was incorrect about the family, it is not a member of the schist family, it is a member of the mica family. Although mica is found in schist quite frequently. _http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuchsite_ ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuchsite) Muscovite (also known as Common _mica_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mica) , Isinglass, or _Potash_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potash) mica_[3]_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuchsite#_note-2) ) is a _phyllosilicate_ (htt p://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silicate_minerals) _mineral_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mineral) of _aluminium_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aluminium) and _potassium_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potassium) with formula: KAl2(AlSi3O10)(F,OH)2. It has a highly perfect basal cleavage yielding remarkably thin laminae (sheets), which are often highly elastic. Sheets of muscovite 5 metres by 3 metres have been found in Nellore, India._[4]_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuchsite#_note-3) Muscovite melts at approximately 1320°C, has a _Mohs hardness_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohs_hardness) of 2 - 2.25 parallel to the [001] face, 4 perpendicular to the [001] and a _specific gravity_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Specific_gravity) of 2.76 - 3. It can be colorless or tinted through _grays_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gray_(color)) , _browns_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown) , _greens_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green) , _yellows_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellow) , or (rarely) _violet_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Violet_(color)) or _red_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red) , and can be transparent or translucent. The green _chromium_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chromium) rich variety is called fuchsite. _http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zoisite_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zoisite) Zoisite is a _calcium_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calcium) _aluminium_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aluminium) _hydroxy_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydroxy) _sorosilicate_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silicate_minerals) belonging to the _epidote_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epidote) group of _minerals_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mineral) . Its _chemical formula_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chemical_formula) is _Ca_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calcium) 2_Al_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aluminum) 3(_Si_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silicon) _O_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxygen) 4)(Si2O7)O(O_H_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrogen) ). Zoisite is named after the _Slovene_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slovenia) scientist _Baron Sigmund Zois von Edelstein_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baron_Sigmund_Zois_von_Edelstein) (Žiga Zois), who realized that this was an unknown mineral when it was brought to him by the mineral dealer Simon Prešern, who had discovered it in the _Saualpe_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Saualpe & action=edit) mountains (Svinška planina) of _Carinthia_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duchy_of_Carinthia) in 1805. Zoisite was first known as saualpite, after its type locality. Transparent material is fashioned into _gemstones_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gemstone) while translucent-to-opaque material is usually carved into sculptural works. The latter is sometimes shot through with ruby crystals, which are completely opaque and unsuited to use as gems, yet are well colored and contrast strikingly against the green matrix of the zoisite. Hope this clears up a little bit of the confusion. Blessings to your weekend all. Guest guest
Aloha Renau and All . . Also wanted to noted that what I thought was fuchsite was zoisite and vice versa. We have some zoisite that are cut into massage tools and they've gotten a lot of attention lately. Our supplier has great quality in what they offer, but occasionally misname things when sending them. Can't find any reference to Rubellite in Zoisite, so am going to assume the pink rosettes are Ruby. Hope I haven't caused any misunderstandings.
