I started seeing it probably 5 years ago at an international gem and jewelry show that comes to town a couple times a year. In speaking with the owner of a trust rock shop that I got to (he happened to have a polished standing point that he was selling), this is a MAN enhanced quartz. The *cherry* color is put into the quartz somehow through pressure. This was the information he had at any rate. From the moment I saw " Cherry Quartz " , I didn't like it. I don't like the feel of it. the *cherry* gives it a rather plastic-artificial feel. To me the glass description is a more feasible means of the production of this artificial piece.
