I know of this quartz and it is usually referred to as cherry quartz. I

started seeing it probably 5 years ago at an international gem and jewelry show

that comes to town a couple times a year. In speaking with the owner of a

trust rock shop that I got to (he happened to have a polished standing point

that

he was selling), this is a MAN enhanced quartz. The *cherry* color is put

into the quartz somehow through pressure. This was the information he had at any

rate.

 

From the moment I saw " Cherry Quartz " , I didn't like it. I don't like the

feel of it. the *cherry* gives it a rather plastic-artificial feel.

 

To me the glass description is a more feasible means of the production of

this artificial piece.
