Candace,

if you can find a reference about it that would be great. I don't

think it is hematite...

it is just coloring from what I can tell. Hematite isn't cherry red.

~~Hematite isn't cherry red.~~

Greetings {{{John}} (how was Tucson?!?!)

I actually have an amethyst cluster (a large part of what would have been a

geode or stalgtite/mite) that has hematite phantoms in it that are about the

same color red as that " cherry quartz " . This is throughout most of the cluster

which measures 11 " x13 " x7 " (triangle) and 2 " deep. It also has the more

iron-red hematite color in it. Unfortunately I do not have a decent camera for

getting a good detail picture to show you.

Blessings to your eve all.

Hi folks, I have a question about quartz too.my friend brought me an

abundance quartz back from Thailand.it is creamy in colour, you can't see

through it like you can with clear quartz, but otherwise it looks like clear

quartz...is clear quartz sometimes like this?

Yes, I've seen red hematite like this too - very pretty!

As hematite is red before polished I can see how this comes about.

Your piece sounds gorgeous ReNau!

Ok......

I just want to clarity myself about the cherry red hematite...

Yes... Hematite can be red.. and often is.... even on the

Hematite Quartz that I sell or in the Amethyst Phantom Quartz

with Chlorite that we have...and it can be quite red.

However... it is a Hematite Red rather than a Cherry Red.

Ok... I'm done with the Cherry Red Hematite.

I was taking a look at the rocks collection at the university

yesterday and was very surprised to see the hematite: all of them

were red.
