They have shops set up in Malls through western PA at least. Some are

perminent shops and some are seasonal (around Xmas holiday). I don't know if

they

still offer visits to their warehouse or not but you could always email them

and ask. I had always hoped to get to go to their warehouse. It would be

awesome!

Blessings to your weekend all.

hello ReNau .. Christa

yes i have shopped in toms place many times.. spent a small fortune with no

regrettss :)

i bought a crystal bowl from tom.. c note.. i had enjoyed for a while. until i

had become entranced with the sound and went a little to long and to loud

exploding it into pieces..

heres what happened.

a dear friend of mine held his hands about four inches on each side of the

bowl.

i was turning the rubber mallet. when we saw purple energy go from his one

hand to the other.. passing into the bowl thourgh the space thourgh the other

side into his other hand and back through.

back and forth it went.

it was the most amazing thing i have ever seen..

it a feeling of pure tranquility.

we both lost our senses. the c note became louder louder until the bowl

exploded into many tiny pieces...the exploded crystal bowl gave off a sonic boom

sound. our hearing was affected until morning. (sometimes i think i am hearing

the sound of the bowl in my head)..that was 4 years ago..nov 2003 the weekend

after thanksgiving.. i remember it so clearly.and

it only lasted no more than 15 mins.

anyway.. i love toms shop.. i live in the north hills.. i also stop at the log

cabin inn. one of my favorite places..

and the haunted harmony inn. i love the old inn.. Christa

as for mcconnells mills. i grew up there. hiking fishing and picnicing.

i even canoned the less dangerous parts..

my children know the place with blindfolds. now i get to take my granddaughter

there to explore :) it has changed over the years but it sure feels good to

explore.

not far from there are more trails.. a little place called hells hollow.

you can hike to it from breakneck bridge.. but its a rough hike a beautiful

waterfall for pictures. and i think 5 or more miles one way. hiked it in my

younger years.

worth a look.

heres a link http://www.trails.com/tcatalog_trail.asp?trailid=XTM003-051

if you drive to the other end its maybe 1/2mile hike..

anyway . i am not looking for shops but actual places i can get dirty..

digging for some nice finds. here in pa.

have rock hounding tools and ready... :)

another good link for those who might be interested in rock hounding in the

earth. http://www. rocks4u.com/rockhounding.htm

lots of useful info.

finds..

I call it ARS for short ;-) and a trip up there always includes stopping at

the log cabin inn for lunch. Tom and Leslie are good people, very personable

and friendly. I usually go with one of my girlfriends when I hit ARS and then

we stop for lunch. I was up there about 3 weeks ago. I had not been there in

almost 3 years due to lack of time and money at the same time. I got 2

strands (different shapes) of lava rock beads, a pair of moss agate earrings and

a

couple of Himalayan salt tea lamps that are *ginger jar* shaped for flanking

the Eye of Horus urn that Tanzerin's (our much loved and missed dog of 14

years who passed in her sleep over the night/morn of Oct 31/Nov 1st.

I am looking forward to going up there again in a few weeks to see what new

goodies have arrived from the Tucson show. At any rate I am about an hour

south-eastish of Zieli and ARS. I think it is 55 miles from my home. Are you

familiar with Monroeville at all? I am very close to there.

What direction from and how far are you from ARS?

Blessings to your eve all.

Nice when we find we all know a place. Your experiance with the bowl sounds

amazing. I dont know how to deal with one of them. Although it is a shame that

you lost your bowl. I have never canoed at mc connels mills. I used to canoe

beaver creek in ohio. They put in a camp ground at breakneck. Called Breakneck

Camp ground. I havent gotten to camp there yet, but it looks nice. They have a

web site for it.

I dont know of any places for digging rocks.......That would be lots of fun,

If you find a place, please share:) I do like looking in streams and creeks.

but havent really found anything exciting.

have a great day

stay warm.

Jadie I feel your *pain*/*lose* of the singing bowl!! I have one that is

tuned to the note of " D " (I think it is " D " .... throat chakra). I always make

sure I am careful playing it. I have had it vibrate other objects in the room

and house with interesting results. I even have some crystal singing bowl CDs

that you have to even be careful how loudly you play those.

I have to say though .... What an incredible experience you and your friend

had!!

I have never been to the Harmony Inn. Maybe I will have to try that one the

next time I go to ARS instead of going to the Log Cabin Inn.

This was why I posted links to books at amazon.com for you to possibly see

if are in your local bookstores. Borders will special order books that you are

NOT committed to buy if they are not what you are looking for. So you could

always go in with a list of rock hounding trail books, see if any are in stock

and have them special order any that are not that you would feel are

possibilities.

Since you are only in the North Hills, maybe we could arrange to meet up

some time and head over to ARS. It is always more fun to have a shopping buddy

there then going solo!! It would also be nice to work with someone locally that

is also into crystal healing (share techniques, things we have learned,

etc.)

Blessings to your eve all.
