I would suggest that you go to a store that sells gemstones to get a

" feel " for the stones. Anyone can send you stones but what if the

stones they give you just doesn't feel right for you. Then they waste

money sending out a stone that they really loved to try to help

someone but turns out it was just a waste. There are many web pages

that you can find gemstones and their meanings. You get back from the

stones what you put into it. It would be best if you went out and got

the right stone for you. I am VERY attached to my stones and I am sure

that almost everyone feels the same about theirs. But after reading

that you want stones because they are " pretty " I started second

guessing your intent with the stones. I apologize but you wont be

getting any stones from me.

With all due respect, most people buy their own stones.

You've been a member in this group for just 24 hours, and yet you expect

people here to just donate their stones to you.... a stranger. Do you

really think that's a reasonable request? We don't even know your name.

I, for one, do not think Rick was being rude to you in any way, and I happen

to agree with him.

Just my humble opinion.

I also?agree, I don't think anyone is being rude.? Many of us have gathered

stone Spirits over a long period of time and are very attached to them, not to

mention have spend TONS of money and love adopting them.?For some, dare I say

most of us?,,,? they are not just mere posessions, they are things we respect

and deeply cherish on many levels.? ?I have given away some in the past when I

feel I have been guided to do so for certain reasons.? Perhaps you should start

with some simple stones that are readily available on the internet, even ebay,

that you can purchase fairly cheaply.? I have even found ones that resonate with

me in the outdoors in my driveway!?? Quartz, rose quartz and amethyst are some

that I suggest would be a good place to start.? Yes, they are pretty, and they

hold a lot of mystery, magic,?and knowledge, different for each of us.? I think

relatively for $10 you could aquire a small starter set on most places on the

internet.? I have aquired most of my collection which is still in the making,

over the last 6 years, on ebay from some really great sellers and from some rock

shops when I traveled.? But be careful because there are some dishonest people

on ebay?to.? Very few stones have ever been given to me except by close friends

as gifts.?

I think we just want you to understand where we are all coming from and how we

have aquired what we have.? There is no disrepect in that.?? And most of us

don't look at stones as being just stones so sometimes they are hard to part

with because they are part of us.

Maybe if you explained why you are wanting them or what you would like to do

with them, maybe some of us could help you decide on some stones to start with??

I thought perhaps I misunderstood your request. This particular group

has never done rock give aways or exchanges.

We do not allow advertising on the group so those people who sell

crystals don't usually put forth their wares.

If you are unable to buy stones for yourself. You might study to get a

sense of what stones call to you for the time when you can.

One thing I love to do do which does not cost anything is to seek out

the " wild " stones. Look in the drive way and your yard if any, check out

the local park. look down at the sidewalk. You might be amazed at

what you find My daughter once found a small piece of Labradorite on

the sidewalk. I've found fossil shells, obsidian, jaspers sandstone,

quartz and basalt among others just lying around.

Once I even found a necklace with three teardrops of Malachite, Azurite

, Chrysocholla, Around here ( Los Angeles County) we sometimes find

chunks of green quartz with mica . My husband found Pink Quartz in the

yard of his childhood home and my brother has found Carnelian as well

as pumice and sandstone and even fossilized coconut once just around

his home in Oregon.

I second this. I think perhaps we have misunderstood the request. We get a lot

of people asking for advice and suggestions and not all are native English

speaking. Working J may or may not be.

Anyways I interpreted the request for pretty stones as wanting to be in the

energy of beauty...which is a wonderful healing vibration. Sometimes people do

not have it in them to go beyond the beauty of stones and that is just fine in

my book. The stones work regardless and if all they are able to do is fell and

see beauty they will radiate that energy in their own wolds...and hence the

ripple effect.....

I love your wild stone idea...my daughter brought me back some great chunks of

raw carnelian on one of her class trips a few years ago. She was excited and I

was excited....they looked raw and wild. I am sure most of us got started as a

child picking up " pretty stones and bolders " on our family vacations.

Blessings to the group,

I've not posted on this group yet, but I agree with Rick and Sarah. Stones

find a way to you when the need is there. The Universe knows what you need.

You do need to get a " feel " for a particular stone. I don't know how many

times I've gone to buy a certain stone and while holding one, it didn't feel

right, but pick up another stone of the same kind and it felt perfect. The

energies are different even if they are the same, such as amethyst or hematite.

You'll do yourself a better service if you go buy one a see how it feels.

Good Luck

Blessings,

Bobbi

HI

I am also new to the group, so maybe its just me, but have we

forgotten that we are all human here? We are alive, living breathing

creatures. I love my stones, but isn't it part of the point that the

stones are here for all of us, as well as us for them? If it brings a

smile to someone else's face, its good enough for me. I surely don't

have a problem parting with some of mine, even if they are just to be

displayed as " pretty. " If the person who made this posting is

interested, I can part with a few, if you are in the USA. If you are

I agree. in fact i think sometimes we are asked to give away a stone that we are

attached to.. i have a friend who wraps crystals with a leather base to wear

them they are lovely but she never seemed to have time to make me one... she was

selling them at a fair once and a boy bought her last one but for some reason he

didnt like it so asked me if i would trade it for something in my booth.. yes

yes yes.. i was delighted to finally have one of my friends crystals.. The

energy in it was so peaceful and healing i put it on and was so excited to have

it.. another young man came to my booth and i could feel the crystal almost lean

toward him.. i knew for some reason i had to give it to him.. but being the

stone munger i am i didnt want to... i said nooo to myself and the crystal.. i

have wanted you for a long time .. no no no.. but yet the crystal still seemed

to pull toward the young man... but still i said no to myself.. mine.... but as

he walked away i just couldnt stand the

pull on my crystals so ran after him and handed him the crystal.. he looked at

me and i told him he was to have this crystal as he took it he told me thank

you and that he had cancer.... wow.

i dont mean to start an argument. but . i dont feel that we own the crystals

and stones i feel we are allowed to have them for a short time..sometimes they

stay with us sometimes they leave us.. i find for every crystal or stone i give

away something most often comes back..

i would be more than willing to give somebody who wanted them a few as at one

time or other we have all thought they were ohhhhh so pretty. so if you want to

write to me in pvt to give me your address i will be more than happy to send you

a few... kinada_48

I also agree but I also think that there really was no harm in asking

for crystals and healing stones. I am sure we all remember the

feeling when we realized the energy in stones was real and maybe this

person got caught up in that moment. There maybe a chance that some

stones will find their way to the person who started this post.

However, the need to feel your crystals and stones so that a personal

connection starts right away and so the person can get a feeling from

them to know if they are right is very important. Most of mine came

to me over Christmas from my husband and right now I feel like I could

never part with them, they are deeply special to me; my husband

doesn't believe in the path I am on so his going and personally

picking out each stone and putting his heart and love into the gift

makes them just that much more important to me. That is how it should

be with anyones collection not just a bunch of hand me down stones

that you have no feelings for or understanding of the power behind

them. I commend this person for making an attempt to start a new path

and I hope it works out but it really is something that you as the

caregiver of this spirits needs to start by touch not just getting a

hand full of stones for free.

I have been following this post, though a few months old, but felt the need to

express a different perspective on this situation.

While i agree that stones find a way to us, and we find ourselves becoming

attached to their energy and consciousness, we have to be careful about

developing a possessiveness of them. They in truth are not ours to " own " , they

simply join us on our journey, and oftentimes leave us when our paths are no

longer meant to travel together.

None of us can second guess the person's request for stones, perhaps the

Universe has a greater purpose than what appears to be a simple request.

Somewhere out there, there may come a response to him/her and was a means for

the two to meet via a stone/s.

As far as sending stones to the person and not being " right " for him/her, that

lesson would instilled in him more effectively through experience than by simple

verbiage.
