Guest guest
This is a case where using a potentially healing element/mineral can become toxic. Silver or more specifically colloidal silver. _http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2008/1/19/meet-the-man-wit h-blue-skin.aspx_ (http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2008/1/19/meet-the-man-with-\ blue-skin.aspx) From a metaphysical/crystal healing standpoint Silver can have many different healing benefits but taken internally and applied to the skin in too high a dosage or for too long, this is what can happen. The problem is, this guy continues to take the CS even though his skin turned blue. Had I turned blue from a substance I was consuming, I would stop using it for quite a long time to see if the coloring would indeed fade. Guest guest
Interesting article. We've used colloidal silver here for people and animals without any problem. I do recall reading that too much, especially if it's a poor quality product can eventually cause a graying of the skin. One person wrote that for years he's been taking a mouthful of 50ppm colloidal silver with no side effects and I consider that to be a very high concentration, one that would quickly combat a food poisoning situation in the intestine and certainly not a daily maintenance dosage. He speculates that the guy must have been drinking about 8 ounces a day to get that kind of effect. I love how Mercola makes it sound like it's the end of the world when colloidal silver never killed anyone like prescription drugs do. And as far as it being a permanent situation, that just doesn't make sense to me. It goes to the skin because there is an excess in the system and the skin is a huge organ of elimination. Cessation should see some results and chelation methods or liquid zeolites should pull out the remainder of the excess. He mentions a skin condition that the CS cleared up which he obviously thought was far worse than being blue. I wonder what the original condition was that he feels it helped? jayne
Guest guest
First off, in case someone needs it, here is the original link to the Mercola article on this guy and CS (colloidal silver). http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2008/1/19/meet-the-man-with-b\ lue-skin.aspx I also use CS, have read the Mercola article and the user comments, and also watched the segment of him on the Today show when he was interviewed there a few weeks ago. As a general rule, I feel that CS is safe and very beneficial when used properly, which this person did not. He used large amounts of it for an extended period of time (something like 12-14 years) on an almost daily basis. The other thing he did to increase the effects of the CS is to add salt to it. This supposedly does make it work faster but it also creates larger CS proteins (hence called silver proteins in the literature) which is a different type of silver therapy. By creating larger proteins than is ordinarily the case with CS, the silver does not exit the body/skin as readily and can build up, resulting in the condition called argyria, which is the grayish-blue skin color. I believe if properly followed, CS is very beneficial. I use on myself and my pets for a variety of ailments (cuts, sore throats, colds, eye infections, etc.) both internally and externally.
