Hi There

I am new to this group and hail from waaaay down under.

I have been interested in crystals for balancing my life and

surrounding and for health issues for some time now but still find it

very daunting.

I am hoping to learn all I can :)

first question, and probably one you get all the time:

How do you cleanse your crystals, i've heard so many different things

but not from anyone who actually seems to use their crystals for

anything other than an ornament.

thanks in advance for all your teachings

The easiset way is under running water-- a stream is better if you can find

one. Avoid salt- it dries crystals out.

I know how you feel i have read so many things about cleanings crystals some

easy and some hard .... for me it depends on the crystal. if i am using clear

quarts for grids i often will put them in an earthenware bowl with rain water

that a pinch of sea salt has been added and leave them in till that heavy

feeling on them has left sometimes just an hour sometimes a day..

i also smudge my crystals with white sage.. or sometimes i put them outside on

the earth or where ever they ask to be placed.. i try to listen to my crystals

and stones and they tell me what is needed.. some use flowers petals i have used

lavender on rose quartz and it gives the stone a lovely soft glow afterword's..

if i just have bought a stone and feel something on it i don't like i hold it in

my hand and blow on it thinking of a cleaning white light of breath cleansing,

healing, purging, and purifying it..

i think the best way is to read and to than use what works for you. I did a

class that was fun because i had cleansed a whole bunch of clear quartz all

different ways than had everybody feel and get them to say how they felt..

perhaps you could try some different ways yourself and see what feels best to

you... listen to what your crystals need.. i have a piece of healers gold that

has been outside for a week in the dirt now ice and snow.. when i went to see

how it felt i knew it still wanted to be out there...some might say that was

wrong but for this stone it feels right.. i am anxious to have it back but

perhaps its teaching me patience..cheeky if you ask me... because it knows i am

anxious to have it with me..

there is no one way to cleanse them.. it is right to stay away from pure salt

unless you use a two bowls one inside the other with the salt between both

bowls..and the stones never touch the salt but still have the use...there are

some stones that some will say never put in the sun. because they will fade. you

should never put some stones in salt water or water period because they will

dissolve like halite.. i hope this has helped you a wee bit...
