Guest guest
Hi Jen, I know what your Mother is going through. I just had surgery for that same type of cancer, but I was lucky and it hadn't spread to my lymph nodes. The cancer tumor was entwined in 3 of my ribs, so ribs 2,3 and 4 along with part of my chest wall had to be removed. My surgery was done on Oct. 23 and here I am at the computer. My surgeon said " no chemo needed " and the oncologist finally agreed. For stone spirits I had an amythest, a twin point clear crystal, garnet,a rutile quartz, a special Lake Superior stone engraved by a friend, and a piece of sugarlite I got in England (where I had been traveling only 2 month before my surgery.)These are the spirits I took to the hospital with me....my home is something else as it seems to be wall to wall stone spirits. Although I am a few years younger than your Mom (I am 71) it is quite a shock to the system to get this kind of news. I had to have a chest x-ray done for cataract surgery and that is how they found mine. Wanting to do lots of sleeping is part of the dis-ease. She needs to drink lots and lots of water to stay hydrated. I still either take long afternoon naps or go to bed very early. Food doesn't taste good as it doesn't always stay where it should. Wishing lots of energy for your Mom and for you and hubby as you struggle with all the changes that are occuring. Hugs to you(((((((((((((Jen))))))))))) Pat
Guest guest
Pat. Thank you very much for the hugs and for your words on what mom is going through!! I try to encourage eating and drinking every time I talk to her, but I don't want to be a nag. I told her she is going to be so sick of me telling her she needs to drink and eat...LOL...she said, no I won't, at least I know you care. *bless her heart* It is very emotionally challenging and not something I would have imagined I would have had to go through again. This isn't the first time cancer has touched my family. I am a firm believer in the holistic treatment as that is what worked for my mom(my MIL is who has cancer now, ((but she is still Mom)) I didn't want to confuse you.) She had a tumor attached to her brain stem and was given a very small chance of surviving. She survived...10 years now! Sounds strange, but I forgot how hard it is. Congrats on making it through with no chemo Pat, that is wonderful to hear!!!! I hope the rest of your recovery is a breeze!
