HI,

Can anyone tell me is is safe to heat Moldovite?

I want to set it in Fimo modeling clay to mount in a pendant but this

has to be heated for 30 mins at 110 degrees C.

I don't want to damage the crystal so won't do it if there is anty risk.

Thanks

Kirsten

Peggy is right. Moldavite is mostly glass so I would absolutely not heat it....

Aloha Kierten. .Wirewrapping Moldavite seems to work well in making jewelry.

Also leaves mineral free to touch skin which some prefer. Gold is considered

masculine and Silver feminine energy so may want to consider that. Moldavite

has a 'plasticy' feel to it which I've always found interesting. Have been told

that it has the energetic coding of Earth before it was formed and before

changed by humans and considered a powerful Earth healer. A friend puts it

under pillow to enhance dreams. Her husband as a test put it there again

without her knowing and dreams were more vivid, so she feels that is accurate.

Enjoy!

Thanks Dawn and Peggy,

I have a friend who can mount it in woven silver thread so will do that instead.

Hello Kirsten,

I am a Crystal/Fossil Collector, and Own a Functional Glass Art Store

Here in NW IL ( Formerly Called " Head Shops " , But we Now have to abide

by all kinds of BS Govt Regulations---oh well), My Point is:

YES YOU CAN HEAT Moldavites, ONLY Not Tektites, BUT I would suggest

contacting a Local Glass Blower as I have 10 Pro Blowers that sell to

me, and I have sold a FEW of My Moldavites,so that the Glass Blowers

can Incorporate them into thier Pipes, or Whatever, and they Look VERY

COOL in a Pipe--- " It's Outta This World " Ha ha

BEFORE you Do ANY Heating Please Consult a Pro Glass Blower, and if ya

need anymore help give me a Hollar.

Love YOUR Crystals,

Fred
