I'm desparate. Is there a crystal that aids PMS torture? And if so,

what is it and how do I use it.

I don't want y'all reading about me on the news shooting people off a

building next month.

Hiya,

I'm suffering with pmt again at the mo so I really sympathise. This time

round is a bit bumpy for me as I recently cut down on my daily valerian

herbal tablets (for anxiety). I've started taking my old dose again but it

takes a while to build up in the system, so I'm just trying to sit this one

out... but it really isn't easy, is it?!!

I've heard that Agnus Castus (often mispronounced 'Cactus' inc by me ;o)) is

great for PMT. You'll need to take it all the time tho (for a few months) I

think and it takes a while to get into your system. But I've heard of some

positive results.

Here's an excellent webpage about pms by Marilyn Glenville. She really knows

her stuff.

http://www.marilynglenville.com/pms.htm

This is what she says about Agnus Castus:

'Agnus Castus is the most important herb in relation to helping PMS. It has

been widely studied in relation to PMS and has shown to be extremely helpful

in re-establishing a normal balance of hormones. Agnus Castus works on the

pituitary gland and has a balancing effect on the hormones especially in the

second half of the cycle which is why it is such an important herb for PMS

symptoms.'

The reason I haven't taken this is because I take Valerian all the time,

because I am anxious all times of the month! This then reduces my PMS

symptoms too.

Another herbal option is St John's Wort - a natural antidepressant.

The main thing is to find out what your imbalance is - the thing that's

causing your PMS. Apart from what I've said already, it could be down to a

generally too-stressful month (maybe there's something in your life that

needs to change: work, relationships, how you look after yourself etc),

diet (e.g. try cutting out caffeine - you'll be amazed what a difference it

makes to your stress levels!), sleep and relaxation (are you getting enough

through the month?), etc. Once you know the cause you can find the cure.

In regard to crystals, I think it depends again what your main issue is.

When I go 'off the rails' with pms I tend to abandon my crystals, which is

the worst thing I could do! What helps me with pmt changes all the time, to

be honest - which makes me think it depends on what's causing the issue, or

what stage along my 'path' I'm at.

Crystals that have helped me in the past are really my usual favourites:

Rhodochrosite - really helpful during emotional times. Quietly, rationally

calms you down. No heavy bump back to reality. You suddenly can see a bit

more clearly, and are more accepting of what's going on, with some

comforting feelings thrown in for good measure. It's great for the sacral,

solar plexus and heart chakras - ideal for pmt therefore, as it works on the

sacral chakra (sex organs, emotional centre), solar plexus (for self-worth,

courage), and heart (for self-love and love of others). Also great for

period pains - this is the one I always use for stomach cramps.

Hematite - because it is grounding. Provides clarity. I find this less

cushiony than rhodochrosite, but I feel it's very protective. Grounding down

your energies is very important at this time, so it might be an idea to use

this in conjunction with rhodochrosite.

Amethyst - if you're missing a connection with your higher self then pick up

some amethyst, stare into it and talk to yourself!! In my greatest times of

need, I pick up amethyst, to get those rational, comforting messages. Again

you can soften this off with a more cosy crystal, e.g. rose quartz. Amethyst

is also great for emptying your negative emotions and thoughts into, and

getting back only positive - think of the violet flame!

Rose quartz - it's taken me a while to relate to this crystal, but if it's

one for you then pick it up for comfort. Many people recommend this for

depression. It works on the heart chakra - can feel like a hug in a crystal

;o)

My latest friend is Carnelian - apparently it's great for menstrual cramps

(will find out in a couple of days I expect!!!), but I'm using it at the

moment because my pms is leaving me feeling terribly depressed/flat. The

Carnelian lifts my spirits. I don't feel overjoyed exactly(!) but it helps

put a lighter touch on my feelings. It's life force can be pretty

astounding. It can remind you of the path you're on, give you courage to get

through this time. If all you feel like doing is hiding under your duvet

Carnelian can help you feel more motivated to get up and face what you have

to do, with less of a weight on your shoulders. You might even find yourself

feeling a little inspired at this time ;o) It might help you release some of

your emotions in a positive way - perhaps by doing something creative?

OK, that's about enough from me now. The main thing is to try things out

when you feel like this. And if you find *anything* good that works for you,

even just slightly, go with it. The more you try things out, the more

knowledge you'll gain about why you feel this way, and the more solutions

you'll have for future months.

Lots of luck. And please do let us know how you get on.

I was looking through my web page files making some updates and for

material to post to Practical mystic2 and Came upon a list of some of

the personalized energy work transmissions and attunements I'd done for

individuals and came across one set I used to use but had not thought

about for years so if you are willing to accept it I've set up and

attunement for the Yam shakti and Moon time shakti set these can be run

hands on( where it hurts) or hands off and will self select the

appropriate frequencies. this is a set of shakti dedicated to helping

with woman issues including PMS

You can call in a sample to see of you like the feel of this and call

in the attunement by intention if it is in accord with your highest good

can be run for self and others.

Mangano Calcite and other pink Calcite step up for this and hematite

Hold it or rest it on painful areas

>I'd like to remind women everywhere, that our bodies, very much like

crystals can communicate with us. When PMS is afflicting us (and I KNOW

how bad it can get!) your body is telling you something is out of

balance. Try to tune into how your body feels rather then shutting it

off. Ask your body why it feels this way. PMS is not a natural part of

our cycles, it is a red flag so what is your body telling you? As for

crystals I've found moonstone is amazingly helpful, not only in

rebalancing our energies but helping us to tune into our moon cycles

and understand how it is affecting us. Rose quartz can soothe our

afflictions and provide comfort and any other stone you feel helps you

with insight can be helpful in understanding your body and releasing

these symptoms for good! If you enjoy herbal remedies then I'd highly

suggest Red Clover, Raspberry leaf, and Marshmellow Root. Wishing you

many blessings and lots of love and comfort, Kat

Hello,

Other Herbs I have found quite helpful, and have recommended for years , are

Chaste Berry/Vitex and Black cohosh. They will help with night sweats, hot

flashes, nervousness, Brest pain, uterine inflammation and bleeding, vaginal

dryness and fibriods.

Hey dear

The first thing I would recomend is that you find someone who can give you a

Hurley it is a massage technique, and then I find prehnite, helps with

female problems in the PMS arena as well as Garnet, rose quartz, to help

deal with the stress and anxiety, as well as the combination between these

two techniques which helps beyond belief. Make sure you have a good Calcium

and Ester C , kelp, and by all means drink plenty of water, the rule of

thumb follows 2 ounces per pound of body weight.

  • 2 weeks later...

Bootzey-

I'm at the Crone stage myself--what a relief!!

Some crystals that come to mind, in addition to those already mentioned:

Moss agate--wonderful for all things female. Wear it on your skin for

best results.

Tree agate--good for water retention and very calming, helps us to

connect to Mother Earth.

Howlite--helps me to stay serene. I didn't like the (very slow) energy

at first, but then I found a small bracelet of howlite keeps me pretty

contented.

Hope these will be of help for next month!
