Guest guest
Katy- I have found using sound can help lessen the racing mind. I am a very active high energy person. I have always used a favorite song to 'sing me to sleep' each night. I would pick this song and play it and try to sleep. I a seemingly short amount of time I tained my brain to sleep when I would hear this song. I have been using this technique since I was in grade school. If I was having aparticular hard night I would lay on the floor and do push ups and sit ups to allow my body to tire and my mind to catch up. Not to mention I actually lost a few pounds. I have also used focused breathing. This mean s I would count each of my exhalations and this would send me off. I have experienced the same thing you are talking about my whole life. You are not crazy! I would also try journaling my thoughts because I would have so many 'great ideas' at bed time. SOmetimes I would get up for hours so I switched to the other techniques. As far as you chakras go I am do a close study of the chakra system related to tuning fork and crystal healing work that I currently do with clients. Adding the toning, singing, drumming and tuning forks and created a unique multi-dimensional helaing to my work. Very connected to all. You can learn more about the sound work at www.energycreek.com I am about to update the site and adding my 8 and above chakra findings. Try focusing on your 3rd chakra- the power center. And always remeber to breathe. Enjoy your day! Heather www.brigetowellness.net
Guest guest
I can see how that might work, Heather. I love music, and have made some chakra sounds myself. I keep meaning to explore this further, but then never find the time. But I must! I need to get hold of another walkman, as I dropped my last one! As my bf would be rather annoyed if I started to play tunes when he was asleep ;o) Although I could try something in my head maybe in the meantime. I've found gardening exhausts me when my mind is too active, but with work I haven't had time lately. Normal exercise isn't really my thing, I never bother! Oh yes, I forgot I used to count slowly to make sure I breathed deeply. That used to relax me. Thanks for the reminder - another thing to try tonight! Yep I often I have to get up and do whatever it was I was thinking about. Definitely a lot of good ideas - scribbling on paper might be less disruptive! I'll take a look at your site, too, thank you, as I'm keen to explore this further Speak later, Katy UK On 20/08/07, heather_tapia2002 <heather_tapia2002 wrote: > > Katy- > I have found using sound can help lessen the racing mind.
