Guest guest
It has been a very busy ,emotional week and a half since were first told of the death of my childrens' friend, Hospitalman Daniel S. Noble in Iraq. Lots of tears, memories sorrow and laughter too . We've been to " viewing service " Funeral, Military Honors, open house and Mara went to a candlelight vigil and tree planting /posthumous black belt ceremony last night . I carried a pouch of stones jet ,apache tear, Mangano Calcite ,Golden topaz ,blue flourite, moonstone , rose quartz ,aquamarine and they seemed to help greatly to pull us together and deal with our own grief enough to support the family and the many friends , The girls were magnificent and we all had moments where we just intuitively knew where to be and what to say. Nicole made it her mission to be there for Daniels Sister as well as for Mara. Very emotional wrenching experience, Daniel was a great person and much loved. His Father is a Los Angeles Deputy Sheriff and many of the force had known him most of his life so there was large group of deputies as well as Navy and Marines at both services Great big Sheriff Captains and Marines Sobbing their Hearts out . Daniel was the person who most helped Mara learn that she could operate and interact in the world and that she was able deal with her own Dragons ( Mara is Hearing and speech impaired and dyslexic and until she met Daniel was very shy of " abled " people) and He was a brother to Nicole, at 6 foot 8 he was not intimidated by any thing , He often made him self smaller and matched other eye level and had a great and mischievous sense of humor. I do not like war this one in particular , I am glad that we are honoring our soldiers this time instead of abandoning them This was only the second funeral my husband has attended since he left the Army (1971). When He was in the army He attended hundreds of military services at the San Francisco National cemetery, most were attended only by the military escort and the military chaplain often there was no relative willing to accept the flag. . That was not the case this time. After the regular service we left the Skyrose Chapel and ended up only about a block or two back in the funeral procession from the chapel to the Grave site military honors location. As we approached the gate we could see the beginning of the procession with police escorts. The Transport with Daniels' remains, limos with family, the military and the over 30 Patriot Riders motorcycle honor guard as they turned left out of the memorial park main gate onto the street. We looked behind us back up the curving road climbing over a mile back to the chapel and could see that there were still many cars that had not yet left the parking area and probably more that were not visible behind the curve of the hill . Were were so moved by the respect and honor shown to Daniel by all those people. He Chose to Go to Iraq as a Medical Corpsman because he wanted to help others . The family has said that Donations can be made to a fund to build a memorial for Fallen Corpsmen at Camp Pendleton , Daniel was the 30th Corpsman to have been killed in action in Iraq. If you feel like it you can send a donation for this and put " Noble Fund " in the left corner area of the check " Noble Fund " LACPOA Attn:Joel Mackay,CFO 10200 Sepulveda Blvd Mission Hills Ca 91345 Anyway thank you all for your prayers and energies .
