Hello everyone,

I was just going to start a topic about Michael Katz and the " Gemstone

Guardians " . He created Gemisphere after the transforming experiences he writes

about in the book. It's a beautiful piece filled with wisdom and loads of

information.

I recently started reading and was a little taken aback by a couple of passages.

I was wondering if you could share your thoughts concerning some the ideas

expressed.

He speaks of people using crystals with one pointed end and one non-pointed end

to direct the flow of disharmonious or positive life forces but states:

" Yet there is certainly no obvious way of knowing for sure whether the crystal

is pulling disharmonious energy or positive life force out og the body. For this

and other reasons, I strongly caution youyhat placing crystals on the body can

be extremely dangerous. "

Ok this really confused me, for many reasons I won't go into, but I read the

passage several times and immediately wanted to see what others thought. Is

there really no way of knowing? It seemed to contridict so much of what I have

been taught.

He then goes onto explain how the " safe and effective way " to receive the

healing energies of gemstones is by wearing them in as spheres. The explaination

for this is very well stated and I could clearly understand the belief behind

this, but this part still didn't sit well with me:

" ..most gemstones in crystalline form have little or no affinity for the human

aura. In general, a crystal's energy is compelled to flow with great focus and

force only in the directions directed by the crystal's faces. Because of this,

when crystals are worn or used by a human being, the crystal energy can touch

only a small part of the person's aura. Very little, if any, information comes

back to the crystal. The crystal has no way of learning the aura or needs of the

individual. "

ok, this one blew my mind. I felt like 20 years of my own personal bond with

stones was in question. Intention and highest good kept flooding my mind.....do

crystals have such one track minds? What about the healers, their subtle arts?

Is the sphere the only way? In my heart I know my truths and will continue to

practice these, but was definitely thrown a curve ball.

Please share with me your thoughts concerning these questions. I love reading

new ideas and theories and this is one of the first that threw me for such a

ride. Any and all insights would be lovely,

with love and light,

Erica in Oregon

Yes... there are located here in Portland and I have known several people

who have worked for them.

Many people that I know who have owned the necklaces have liked them..

and bought additional ones.

I feel that they are over priced... but that is just my opinion.

As in many things today... you must use your judgement to determine

what is real and what is marketing. :-)

Erica,

If you have one person saying the color is black... and hundreds... thousands

saying the color is white... which color do you think it is? :-)

Refer to my previous post about marketing. If you are selling spheres...

then perhaps you will be prejudiced that way?

We have to remember... just because it is in print doesn't make

it gospel. ;-)

In gratitude,

John

Hi Erica!

Hope you are having a beautiful day!

I have read Michael Katz book. As I was very interested in gemstone healing

modalities and wanted to learn more about the subject. The passage that you

posted, about the pointed and non-pointed end of the gemstone stood out to me as

well...Michael spoke about how using these stones can actually be detrimental

and damaging to the body or a person's aura. He basically said that the healing

energy only recirculates back into the stone and that using stone spheres

instead were the best way to utilize the gems healing energy. I found this to

be very interesting, yet I noticed that there was no research or documentation

to support his theory..Honestly, I dont know if its true or not...

The reason I am a bit skeptical is because I practice kinesiology and have

muscle tested many of his " theraputic " gemstone necklaces and have found that

the majority of them did not test positive for me (meaning my body did not

respond in a positive way to the gemstones).. There is only one I have come

across that has tested positive for me which was the Mother Of Pearl necklace. I

cant explain this...Yet I can only guess that gemisphere is using stones that

are either not natural or they have done something in the processing of making

spheres from stones that have caused them to lose their positive and theraputic

effect.

Has anybody ever tried muscle testing the stones they use? If you are

interested in learning a muscle testing technique that I use, please let me

know..I would be more than willing to help.

Hope this has been helpful :)

Blessings!

Hi Erika,

My take would be my usual take and that is that he does not back this with any

facts or science. While not all things need science, what he is stating here

can all be verified by many different instruments of measurement. I believe he

is stating his intuition and his opinion and while there are many things quite

insightful about the book, channeled by his wife, I am left with " Oh My God He

Sells Spherical Necklaces " .

Regarding Michael Katz's books: (my opinion)...

I'm an experienced energy worker / Reiki Master / crystal healer and was

profoundly disappointed with this person's books. To state that working with

anything other than what " he " sells is nothing but a scare tactic and marketing.

I've worked with a variety of crystals in different forms and the result is only

positive.

If you research Michael Katz you'll see he is a clever marketer. You'll find

pictures of celebrities wearing his necklaces, (most likely donated to the

celebrity so he can get free publicity).

To each his own but the books were a waste of my time and $$$

Erica,

Go with your own instincts. I relate to rocks as my friends, and

when I need help, I tell them. For example, if I need stamina and

support, I'll wear my (red) Garnet bracelet or Smoky Quartz

necklace. As I'm putting it on I'll say to my bracelet/necklace, I'm

tired and need your help. Lend me your quality of

endurance/willpower.

Some books say that in order for stones to be effective, they must

touch your skin. I have found that to be untrue. When I was sick

with a stomach flu, without saying anything (without intention) and

just placing some Green Flourite beads above my stomach, I felt

nausea depart.

I went to a social function and was psychically/emotionally

assaulted, but didn't realize it until I got home and took off my

Citrine necklace. As I reviewed the conversation, I understood what

happened. The realization of what took place occurred subsequent to

the happenings because my Citrine buddies were protecting me, without

any request for aid, so I never received the impact of the negative

energy.

It's good to read but take in what you're reading with a grain of

salt. Experiment to see if what a person has written is true--true

for him/herself only or true generally speaking.

Bright Blessings,

Agua

I am afraid I do not agree with him, this is not my

experience.Crystalswhich have been shaped into spheres can be very

upset as this is very

disturbing for them.Crystals like to keep the shape they formed into not to

be re formed (generally).having them put into grinders and re shaped is very

traumatic for them. I have an agate geode with which a very strong bond- it

loves me and it called me in the shop to take it home with me.i love this

crystal dearly- it is my friend.
