Guest guest
Hello everyone Last year I purchased an amber drop about the size of a quarter. I was immediately drawn to it when I saw it. The man told me that he'd drilled it and put a pin through it because Amber is hard to use. Usuall its encased in a metal such as silver because it's fairly fragile. He didn't put a fitting on it because it might break. I love the exposed nature of the because it lays right next to my chest. (I have asthma.) I've worn it continuously and my asthma seems to be improving to where I'm able to do a lot more than before. Once I took it off for several days to 'cleanse' it in the sunshine in my window and I kind of forgot it. I wound up with bronchitis. I belive that it helps me a lot. Does the drilling hurt the amber? Should I remove the pin and glue a fitting on it? I'm afraid I'll lose it as I've been able to become more active lately horseback riding, walking the dogs etc. I sort of have an emotional attachment to the drop. My primary care doctor commented on it. She's from India and said that her people believe in stones healing powers. At the very least its beautiful, and if my belief in it helps, it certainly won't hurt. Any ideas about the pin through it? Is that ok? Guest guest
HI Deb, It is my opinion that putting a pin through amber is the equivalent of getting your ears pierced....or polishing a crystal. When you get your ears pierced you do in fact affect the chi flow to certain meridians. It is possible that physically and metaphorically that certain lattice structures have their flow impeded. On the otherhand, like jewelry, you are making way for a new energy...the energy of you wearing the stone and enhancing other energies, including beauty, which is a wonderful energy to hold. When a crystal is polished you lose the c-axis of the crystal and the knowing, unless you divine the energy, or where the true flow of energy emerges from....the energy of a crystal, natural termination, always exits through the c-axis of the crystal termination. But when you polish a crystal it brings out a level of beauty which is not always accessed or seen unless polished. There are other gifts to emerge. Amber does not have a natural termination but it does conduct electricity. Many apects of this question are entirely subjective. Most of us are guardians of polished and cut crystals. Polished Amber tells a story of the history it encases...bugs and ferns...time and space. You do not loose your abilities or beauty when you pierce your ears, or other body parts, You take on a new energy....even though other processes have been affected. Embrace your beautiful amber and its ability to help with bronchitis....orange is the color of strengthening the lungs....and vibrationally it is doing the work it best does. Guest guest
If it seems to be working for you why not leave it as it is? Guest guest
Yeah, I'm kinda in the if it ain't broke don't fix it mode myself. I just remember a discussion that was on list about drilling crystals and it got me to wondering. My Amber is safe as is. And thank you, Dawn Silver, for all the good information in the earlier reply. I am attached to it and I think that's partially why it works for me. Guest guest
I've never heard of a pin affecting amber. What metal is the pin though? If it is a base metal, I might suggest changing it, depending what metal it is. I'm a bit wary of glue though, as I find the glue strength required for jewelry can lessen the stone's power at times. I look at as " blocking pores " of the stones, as that's the only real explanation I can come up with. I've been told that metal inhibits the healing process, but I've never really found that to be true - but I can only wear gold and silver. According to my books though, copper should be healing as well. Hyacinth , " DebiC " <dcole6 wrote: > > Hello everyone > > Last year I purchased an amber drop about the size of a quarter.
