Guest guest
Hi everyone! I am sensitive to crystal and rock energies. When I hold them in my hands I feel energy resonating from them. I have accumulated a big collection of various types over the past few years. I love rough natural forms, but enjoy tumbled as well. A while back I had them all in a display case in my livingroom and sometimes would keep the door open and after a while I'd feel like I had shortness of breath (just a sensation - not really short of breath). I'd close the door and the sensation would go away. I have a couple in each color of the spectrum on my desk at work, but they don't seem to bother me. I recently created a 5' circle out of my rox (as I like to call them) and I truly enjoy sitting in it. Once I found myself bawling my eyes out for a few minutes, then felt happy as a clam and 40 minutes had gone by before I knew it. Two days ago I received an 8 " calcite geode that is giving off a lot of energy. I held it quite a few times during the day and even sat with it for a while during the evening. Whenever I put it down I can still feel the energies resonating in my hands for a while. Yesterday I felt quite agitated for no apparent reason (unless it's a planet alignment). I'm just wondering if anyone else has experience any sort of possible energy overload? Is there such a thing as receiving too much? Some days I feel like I can't get enough and I can't let more than a month go by without adding to my collection. I admit it... I'm a rock junkie. Guest guest
I have had some experience with feeling overenergized but mostly in relation to sleep. I have a bowl of a whole bunch of different crystals - I kept having a lot of trouble falling asleep at night and finally realized it was that the bowl was too close to the bed. I moved it to a different room and then could sleep at night. :-) Take care, Carol Ann Free Zensight Energy Healing Ebook & Spoon Bending Video! <http://www.ZensightProcess.com/video.shtml> www.ZensightProcess.com I'm just wondering if anyone else has experience any sort of possible energy overload? Guest guest
I keep a few rox on my nightstand and have difficulties with sleep as well.... I was attributing to stress, sleeping upstairs or any other reason I could come up with at the time. I will remove them from the room. Thank you for your response! There is no reason to remove them from completely from the bedroom. I have crystals in almost every room in my home, including many in the bedroom. On occasion I have trouble falling asleep but it is in no way related to the crystals in my room. They actually help me relax and fall asleep. I also sleep with a crystal or three under my pillow for dreamwork. Have you tried this yourself yet? As to the reaction of shortness of breath when you had the curio door open, I have a possible answer for you on that one. When I first started collecting crystals, I found a little homemade curio that was meant to be placed on top of a dresser or desk (or something). It had a glass door on it. After the collection started growing and I was really tuning into the crystals energies, I *heard* them start yelling at me, " Please take the door off we can't breath! " The crystals themselves were *suffocating* inside the little curio. So, I went ahead and took the door off and they were happy. Your shortness of breath could be an indication that these crystals need to be brought out of the confines of the curio and allowed to have circulating air. Crystals that I do keep inside a curio, I try to rotate occasionally, so that they get air also. Blessings to your eve all. Guest guest
Some crystals, like iolite with its high magnesium content, are actually vibrationally good for sleep. Blue and purple help to relax and bring the energy to a state of calm...they are recommended for sleep deprivation. Magnesium is always recommended for sleep disorders.....even a stone with a good calcium content like jade or larimar. Avoid Amethyst as it is of the crystal family and can rev up the motor but it is purple so....gaze at it from afar. Guest guest
Good morning everyone - ReNau, thank you for your response. I have never slept with any crystals under my pillow for dreamwork. I will certainly give that a try! I will generally empty my pockets at the end of the day and place them on the nightstand. I have accumulated quite a few there. I need to be more aware as to what I am placing there. What you said about the curio makes sense... although I must have heard them because they have all been moved to the open circle. I usually only keep a few in the curio... the newest ones to get aquainted and smudged before joining in with the others. I've had people come into my home and look curiously at the curio... I can only imagine what they are thinking. (giggling) My kitties love them, too. They all have their favorites. The circle is almost always being played with. Have an energized and colorful day! Guest guest
I also find that amethyst stimulates my mind. I know it can be used for sleeping problems, but I think in some cases it does the opposite! Amethyst is amazing for me when I need to get in touch with my higher self. I get loads of messages on what I should be doing which ranges from extremely useful to mildly irritating (one isn't always in the mood for advice lol - especially when trying to sleep!). Guest guest
I find that obsidian is the most resonant with me. It seems to soak up all my problems and cushion me when i'm feeling vulnerable. In fact when i get called to wear it, I find i am completely engulfed in a soft velvety calmness which i noticed also attracts me to darker clothing and to generally relax in a night-time feeling. It has been written that it promotes a distance between you and the outside world, a kind of quiet solitude which is extremely beneficial for my relaxation! I have never had such a wonderful and constant response as other stones, although ocean jasper is also wonderful for me, it seems to be so effervessent and sparkling with fizzy energy! Guest guest
I am in peri-menopause and every time one of my boys comes home on leave I go through empty nest syndrome all over again when they depart. I was keeping a zincite on my nightstand and that may have been the one that was waking me up. I removed it last night and put a chunk of rose quartz in it's place. I only woke up once (briefly) and slept so well I was awake before my alarm. I also had a piece of amber, amethyst, carnelian, hematite, and a couple of quartz crystals there, as well, all of which I also removed. I admit I still have much to learn about them, but they are teaching me every day. I am going to remove my rox off my desk at work for the time being. I also have bowls of chips everywhere. I am putting them altogether in the circle, smudge them, and recharge them before working with them again.... and not so many at one time. There are days I don't wear any. I usually realize it after I leave the house and figure those days I don't need any. I enjoy it when I walk the circle and ask who wants to come with and I hear ME.. ME.. ME.. There are days I want a particular one with me and it says no. I grumble sometimes. (giggle) I listen and another will choose me. I went for my first reiki treatment last week. I have been fighting depression (my son left again)... and feeling lonely. The practioner said she usually doesn't use crystals during her treatments but felt she needed to on me. When she asked which ones to use they all wanted to join in. She was amazed. I have been feeling lost lately, both at work and at home. It is time to seek a new path and I trust the universe will take me to where I need to be. Thank you all so much for your input. You have been a great help! Guest guest
Hi again, I'd certainly recommend amethyst for the way you're feeling. Try keeping that one with you all the time (see how u get on with it at nightime - take it or leave it while u sleep). Amethyst really helped me through difficult times as i would hear my in(ner)tuition help me out. I get so many messages off amethyst it's amazing. I hope it can work for you in the same way. Here's another way to choose crystals... hold amethyst in your hand, get in touch with your higher self / in(ner)tuition and ask which crystals *you need*... rather than asking which crystals want to come with you. That way you're giving power to yourself, not to the crystals. If nothing else this will make you feel more in control of your healing, and therefore your life... which really is a confidence boost when you feel down! Let us know how you get on. Guest guest
I have a snowflake obsidian, but I don't think I have ever worked with it! I usually reach for my howlite, moonstone or a hematite when seeking comfort. I intend on working with them one at a time for a while.... it's bad enough my kitties control me, ya know? I didn't realize I was giving the crystals control, too. A possible reason of why I'm not feeling like myself lately? Ocean Jasper sounds like a fun one! I must look that one up later! Guest guest
I'll have to give this one a go, Eva, it sounds lovely. I've actually only heard warnings about black obsidian ... people saying that they found it affected them too strongly. Because of that I've always stayed clear of it, and am even wary of some snowflake obsidian beads I have, even though that's meant to provide a more gentle feeling. You've made me see that I need to try obsidian for myself to tell whether it suits me or not... I would love some of that 'soft, velvety calmness' Thanks, Katy UK On 18/05/07, oysterstars <oysterstars wrote: > > I find that obsidian is the most resonant with me. Guest guest
Hi again, TalkingFeather (lovely name btw!). I'm not sure if it's possible for the crystals to take control as such - but who knows! I just know that I understand what you mean when you look at all your crystals to see what to take with you for a while, and they all seem to say 'pick me'! I've ended up with a whole range of crystals in my handbag, and altho a constant chakra healing sounds delightful, I'm sure all those energies have got me a bit confused sometimes lol. So, now I try to be more selective (most days ;o)). What I picked up on with your email was the need to take control yourself, because it makes you so much stronger doing this. However, it's really hard to know sometimes what's for the best! One thought says one thing, another thought says another. This is why I suggested Amethyst to put you in touch with your higher self so that it's easier to work out your path - to know what you truly want. Definitely agree it would be good to work on your favourite stones one at a time. It's amazing what you can learn about each stone, how it makes you feel/think/act and in turn you learn so much about yourself. I know it's hard to do this becoz I'm just like a kid in a sweetshop with crystals. In fact, I'm listening to my own advice here... I have a few new stones, I've had them about a month, but in that time I haven't learnt all that much about them becoz I keep using them together. I'm determined to sit down and 'get to know them' Once you've gained a more intimate relationship with each crystal, then you can play with combinations more easily. You'll find that some complement eachother but others definitely don't! Have fun... and give your kitties a cuddle from me I have two bunnies. Pet therapy is great too, isn't it?!! All best, Katy UK On 18/05/07, Shelley <talkingfeather2006 wrote: > > I have a snowflake obsidian, but I don't think I have ever worked with > it! Guest guest
yeah i've heard warnings too, and there have been times where i've had to remove an obsidian sphere from my room, although i don't think there was any need looking back on it, i think i was just paranoid. in fact i don't understand many of the warnings (or remember them) apart from the one that says to only wear it consciously. the thing with obsidian (if there's a calling to use it, like haemetite it recognises you so to speak) is that it's almost a trance-like state, even momentarily, and i have read that you need to use it consciously... i think they mean that use it only when you are willing to have it on you, i can imagine that if i wear it or carry when i've forgotten about it, or for the sake of putting something on, it doesn't seem to resonate well, maybe that's when you're working with it subconsciously, and i can imagine it can be somewhat mischeivous with the general energy. I generally have attuned with it greatly (for me) so i only use it when i feel the need for its 'velvety' energy. This talk about it seeing into the root of the problem and showing us what is going wrong whether we like it or not is a little scary, but when i resonate with it, and use it, i notice that it gently allows me to look deeply into things. The feeling does linger so maybe there is need to rest afterwards or i tend to ease off crystals for a while after....or not sometimes... anyway it's lovely, it has lingering effects but i love it. its supposed to gently take you to the affected area or problem, i see this as true actually, and also that it doesn't actually heal everythin but allows you to see what is needed for other crystals to do the work. Oh ! AND! i read this for apache tear, the less opaque version, that it soaks up sorrow if you have a really difficult time, and i'm sure this works for obsidian too. It's actually the main reason i like it. It kind of sits with you at your time of need and allows you to linger in a night-like embrace while dealing with sorrow, second best thing to sleeping, you can kind of walk around when sad and harrowed and yet not really need to feel it because of the comforting energy that sits alongside it. it 's good i think if the mood is harsh and difficult to get help at that time.
