Guest guest
Hi In addition to the comments about salt water cleansing and other methods such as running water, burying in dry salt and burying in the earth, I also find that sound is a great cleanser. I usually pop mine in a singing bowl (crystal or metal) after I've used them each time. The sound vibration interacts with the crystal and forces out any negative energies. I then leave them to charge on a quartz cluster. I've used tingsha bells and tuning forks to cleanse crystals in this way too. They also like frankincense. Periodically I leave a lump burning in my room and the smoke can then get in all the nooks and crannies. I'd do it more often but my partner doesn't like me smoking the house out! ) Are there any other methods people use which haven't been discussed here? Always interesting to hear about what other people are doing ) Love and Light Sam
Guest guest
Hi everyone! This is a subject that I seem the most confused about......I've read, on here and in other sources, that they don't need ANY cleansing? That they " know " how to recharge themselves? What does everyone think of this? Guest guest
Hi Erica, My 2 cents is this: If they never needed cleaning then one would not be able to intuit others energies when holding a crystal. If the crystal was " clean " it would not have the imprint of others thoughts or energies. Now that is not to imply whether the energies are beneficial or hindering. That is not the point. If you have done bodywork (or self work) with a crystal and you know you have released energies it is great to cleanse the crystal. It is no different then taking a bath. When you are stressed remember how amazing it feels to take a salted bath and release the frenetic energy from you field. How great and clean does it feel to jump in the natural healing salts of the Pacific Ocean. It clears and cleanses your crystal structure. Remember your skin is collagen fibers (hexagonal in shape) just like every quartz crystal because they are made from the exact material structures. We are the Human Crystal! I have never seen anyone back up the claim that crystals do not need, or do need, to be cleansed. Yet I believe it can be verified by more than our " feelings " or intuition. Now I am in no way knocking intuition. But if that is the tool of imperical measurement we are using then I say use your intuition. How can yours be any less or more valid than anyone elses. But to you it is!!!! Because what you believe and percieve is what YOU create. In the old days ( I am officially over 50) i used to teach others to visualize a meter in their mind (or you can draw one and use a pendulum) and score a number in the arc that points to the amount of energy in the crystal field that needs cleansing. then see it go down to zero and then full charge it with the pure rays of white light nothing less than the divine energy of the Mother/Father God. This is just one of many many techniques but it is done with your intentions. anyways...my 2 cents, lot's of joy and love, Dawn Silver Jewels of the Lotus Tibetan Gemstone Oracle " Erica L. Guest guest
Dawn, you rock! (pun intended!) Thank you so much for responding, this is one more lesson for me in allowing myself to intuit more with the stones and worry less about prescribed standards. Thank you thank you! This group has helped me so much in my journey into the world of gem. much peace, Erica - Dawn Silver<DawnSilver To: <@grou\ ps.com> Wednesday, February 07, 2007 3:06 PM Re: [CrystalHW] Crystal Cleansing Hi Erica, My 2 cents is this: If they never needed cleaning then one would not be able to intuit others energies when holding a crystal. Guest guest
I only know of two crystals that are self-cleansing. Citrine and kyanite are the two I know of. It has been my experience that all others need cleansing. Blessings, Brighid Are you a fan of women's music? Guest guest
Hi All.... I have a large lot of various crystals. I feel their energy when I hold them and when I no longer feel them that's when I cleanse them. I smudge them with a sage stick (along with my home) and leave them in the window overnight to absorb the moon and sun energies... then they are humming again. Most of my gems are in a 4-ft wide circle and I was having a bad day the other day, for no particular reason. I layed in the middle of the circle and after a few minutes I felt SO much better... I have found a happy place. I stayed there for about 45 minutes and if my phone didn't ring it would have been much longer. Even my kitties joined in. I felt at such peace and although my mind was too muddled to meditate when I got up I felt rejuvinated. I recently aquired a 2-piece crystal geode. About 4 " in diameter. I put my hematite pendulum inside for a few hours and boy-oh-boy I have never seen it swing like that! It really enjoyed it... so I did other crystals, too. My Mum found an old chunk of amethyst in my Grandpa's things and it was so dull and lifeless. I've been working on it for about a month now and placed it on the geode for a couple of hours and it is finally starting to brighten up. Once the ground thaws I intend on putting it in the earth for a moon cycle. I've heard some crystals don't need clensing, but I find that I go by what I feel from the crystal. If I don't feel it I smudge, sit in the window and recharge it. Seems to work for me. I live quite a distance from the ocean, but next time I'm at one I will be bringing some ocean home with me. I did let all my gems soak in spring water for a few days and forgot to pull out my angelite and selenite (won't do that again), so they are scarred. Lesson learned. I have not tried using salt. I will try that on my next cleansing. I love my gems!!! Guest guest
I also sometimes use one of my favorite CD's of Benedictine Monks chanting. It clears out the whole house and everything in it. I just put it on and play it till I'm tired of hearing it. (that could be quite awhile :-)) I also recently brought back some sand from the ocean. (and later found out that it is against the law to do that) When dried I placed it in a container and 'planted' some of my crystals in it. They love it. I don't really cleanse my crystals per se since I often smudge and play clearing sounds (the monks or crystal bowls) and there is regular Reiki done in the room. (sometimes I just send my crystals some cause it makes them happy) I haven't felt the need to perform a special clearing/cleansing on my 'rocks'. I do plan however to place them in my labyrinth on a full moon just because I think they will like it. :-) I never use salt water, there are too many ways to cleanse them without soaking them in something that is caustic to them. diosa , " Sam Birch " <sam.birch wrote: > > Hi > > In addition to the comments about salt water cleansing and other methods > such as running water, burying in dry salt and burying in the earth, I also > find that sound is a great cleanser. Guest guest
Hi all, Smudging your crystals is a perfect way to cleanse your crystals as well as the Benedictine Monks. Depending on the stone, and certainly the individual preference, there are many ways to " defrag " your crystals unwanted energies. Using the Five Tibetan Elements Earth....put crystal on plant, bury in yard, put it on a bed of herb or place on a cluster os smokey. Remember smoke can penetrate the depths of all beings as it knows no boundaries. Water...many techniques including the traditional sea salt and water...distilled water and essential oils..or just running it under clear water..a brook, a stream and a river Fire...Smudge, sweetgrass, sage, yerba sante, copal, lavender and others.....running your crystal through purifying incense..Tibetan...Japeanese Air...breathe...invocation...prayer...the wind or a fan....waving your crystal through the air Ether...sound and music and chant....tibetan bowls, tsingshas, bells, crystal bowls Let the Crystal be part of what you do as you walk through your life. Blessings and all the best...one world....one love, Dawn Silver Jewels of the Lotus Tibetan Gemstone Oracle diosad730 <diosad wrote: I also sometimes use one of my favorite CD's of Benedictine Monks chanting.
