an odd question, probably

I generally just read this group in digest format--I learn a lot, but

don't have anything to add :)

But I do have a question, and it's going to seem odd because it's based

on a dream with components from a series of fiction books :)

But, that was from a week ago now and it's still in the back of my mind,

so I thought I'd ask.

The series of books: The Deryni Cycle, etc., by Katherine Kurtz

In these books, the Deryni--a magical subsection of humanity--use a

curious little crystal she (the author) decided to call a " shiral "

crystal, described as being pale golden in color and in these books,

when used as a focus of meditation, they actually " glow " and aid the

user in deepening trance.

Yes, fiction :) I've read these books off and on since they first came

out--being one who likes such things.

And all of a sudden, that stone shows up in a meditation and then in a

dream... I's assumed it was simply something along the lines of

encouraging me to meditate more, or perhaps to expand into meditating

more with the crystals I've got, or something... and indeed, I've

learned some very interesting things about my crystals over the last

couple of weeks by meditating with them, on them, etc. Including the

citrine :)

But this fictional crystal stays in the back of my mind and I'm now at a

loss as to what I've missed!

So, my questions are: any one ever had a dream like that--where they

dreamed of a crystal that didn't exist, doing something that, at least

in their experience, doesn't happen? I've never had a crystal literally

alight--I've " seen " them take on flames and such in my mind's eye, but

not physically glow.

Could this be a hint to look for a particular crystal as a focus for

meditation and if so, what? It looked, in my meditations and dreams to

be of a yellow-golden color--pale, but rich.

Or perhaps I need to work on building a meditational " space " of that

color and structure?

I know there are energetic, etheric components/connections of crystals,

could this be one of those? I've not explored that very much, beyond my

meditations on the crystals themselves--trying to see/feel what came to

mind picking each up without looking to see which it was, individually

and in common, to get " other " senses of them and what I could/should use

them for...

puzzled and intrigued,

Ariel

Hi Ariel,

I have seen some really fabulous golden calcite spheres glow like that

especially one I received from a friend who said it came from the Pantajali (?)

swamp lands in Paraguay(?). But as for shiral I am not familiar only to say

that Black Tourmaline, powerful but without the golden glow is referred to as a

schorl.

The only dream experience I have had with crystals in the dream itself was

when I dreamt of *Excaliber*. In the dream I was walking and talking with a

friend when we came upon a wall of stone that had a large single quartz point

(probably about 2 feet long and 6-8 " in diameter ... so somewhat a quartz

*sword*) embedded lengthwise in the wall. As I approached the wall to look at

this crystal, the wall disappeared thus making this quartz *Excaliber* mine. I

have yet to have *Excaliber* come to me in physical form but one day I know it

will.

Blessings to your eve.

Hi Ariel,

Yes, I have had dreams of special crystals that don't appear to be in this

present physical world.

The magical quality of your dream and the feeling it evoked will prompt you on

to meditational discoveries, but probably only when you least expect it! The

meaning will become clear to you.

There are crystals that glow within like lamps when the light shines on them. I

have many of them...mostly quartz from Diamantina mine or various types of

Lemurian crystals. Calcite also can glow, especially citrine calcite. And then

there are those that hold hidden light and colour rays that you only see under

UV light.

There is also a little known phenomena called an Oracle crystal that lightens

and darkens in response to questions. I have an earthkeeper that can do that,

but does require a deep state of connection for crystal communication. I don't

really understand how or why this happens.

Blessings for the coming New Year!

Liz

Hi Ariel

I've been meaning to post an answer to your 'shiral' question for a couple

of days now. When I read your post it made me immediately think of Golden

Topaz (also called Imperial Topaz). I wasn't 100% on the properties though

with regards to the meditation part, but I looked it up this morning:

" It helps one bring personal desires into alignment with Divine Will and

bring a joyful acceptance and understanding of the operation of Divine Will

in one's life. It is a carrier of the Gold/Pink ray of Christ

consciousness, and it can be used to aid one in connecting with that

frequency in meditation. " - The Book of Stones

The books says it is good for manifestation, and another book I have

supports the meditation properties of the stone.

I can't comment on the glowing part, but it certainly has a quality with the

light as it is transparent, and it is such a lovely golden colour. My

intuition says that this is a stone worth you exploring.

Hope this helps

Love and light

Samantha
