Guest guest
Greetings all, I have been in a major cleaning-decluttering mode for this entire year, as our home is small with minimal storage due to the age of the house (120+ years old when furniture not closets were used for storage). I have been replacing tired pieces of furniture with new pieces that serve a better purpose either by saving space, allowing for storage or both. Criteria for all pieces these days is they have to replace an existing piece, not add to what is already around. In that venue, there is also the challenge of finding pretty and practical ways of displaying/storing of crystals. The crystals that reside with me have emphatically told me they are not to be tucked away in boxes out of sight. I thought I would share with you some of the creative ideas that have come to me and have been inexpensive to boot! (YAY! always good to be able to save money). We created a meditation room 2 years ago when my daughter officially moved out. One of the altars I set up in there (every wall has at least one altar dedicated to an element or particular thing... heehee). One of the altars was created with 2 plaster pillars (that I had sponge painted years ago) and a plate of glass (a bit of a Grecian feel). This had originally been used as a desk in my daughter's room since it suited the decor of cherubs, ivy and angels and didn't take up a lot of space. Well, the pillars through the years had become chipped and it was time to find their replacement. I liked the idea of the pillars and the glass plate atop them but wanted something a little more functional to the space as well. Well, as luck would have it, I found the perfect replacements in a couple of clearance tagged at 34.98 each wooden wine *cabinets* (you know the ones with the open fronts and little cubbies for sliding bottles of wine into?). There are 18 cubbies on each (they are of course matching) and also have a little drawer at the top. With the plate of glass across them, I still have my altar and a lovely place for displaying many small to medium crystals, eggs, spheres (whatever I choose) and the drawers are nice for incense, lighter, charcoals, etc. Some other creative pieces are: a 3 foot tall metal single plant stand with a piece of glass on the top makes a cute little lamps table with room underneath for a drum or whatever else you deem appropriate. Candle holders in various shapes and heights can make wonderful egg and sphere stands, as do napkin rings of various heights and patterns. A pie plate stand (these usually hold 3 pie plates) are great for your rounded bottom brass bowls that are holding you small pocket crystals/stones. A tree stump that had multiple branches cut off of it makes a wonderful multilevel crystal and houseplant stand and can even hold a little table fountain. Just thought I would share. Eventually, I may even post some pictures, so you can see the specific things I am speaking of. I would love to hear what others have come up with for practical yet decorative crystal display/storage. Blessings to your eve all. Guest guest
Most of my crystals prefere to be tucked away, but I keep a clear Quartz cluster in my bedroom, in a small black tv cabinet with a front glass door. I placed an inexpensive round " push on " lamp in there as well so I can have an illuminated cabinet at night to see my beautifull crystal. Also, I have a handfull of pebbles of different stones (amethyst, rose quartz, jade, ...) that I keep in a nice glass " vide-poche " (you know those little bowsl or boxes to hold small stuff like keys that you take out of your pockets). But I just realise that glass, any glass, can keep a energy charge. So be sure to clear your glass bowls or candlesticks before making them the home of one of your crystals. To clear glass objects, put them in salt or discharge the negative energy with intention and visualisation. Send the energy in the ground for purification. Hope this helps Josee
