Guest guest
Anna, I remember, some years back, seeing a documentary about a group of nuns who lived in Minnesota or somewhere. They kept themselves mentally and physically active. The nuns chose to donate their bodies to science. When the spirit passed on (many in their 90s), and the doctors opened their brains, they were shocked to discover that the women " should " have had full blown alzheimers by the appearance of the significant brain tissue areas. But they didn't. I tried to do a search, but didn't come up with anything on this. The theory seemed to be, if you exercise the muscle by researching information interesting to you, learning a new language, doing math problems, solving puzzles, painting, etcetera, the condition that is labeled alzheimers will not be as prevalent. I hope this is the type of information you are seeking. - dolly herbal remedies , " DrCrandall " <drcrandall@e...> wrote: > > > http://www.capecodonline.com/cctimes/heforgettingzx20.htm > > This link is to a story in our local paper on Alzheimer's > Disease. Guest guest
Aluminum has been linked to Alzheimer's disease. Aluminum can be found in mainstream deodrants/antiperspirants, cookware, any canned food, I've heard it's in a couple of shampoos, and of course, vaccinations and other shots. I read the ingredients of my deodrant and found that it had aluminum in it. The skin absorbs roughly 60% of what gets on it, so I was indeed absorbing aluminum into my body every day. I have since switched. Morals? 1) always read your labels 2) do only stainless steel or porcelain/ceramic cookware. Teflon is bad, aluminum is bad, and cast iron leeches too much iron into food, too, and it's also porous, which begs for better sanitation. and 3) avoid those allopathic shots! Just my thoughts --JL
Guest guest
Friends, This is the first time I am posting a mail to the Group, even though I have been reading all the conversations for the past 6 months. I am from the beautiful southern part of India. It is the heart of Ayurveda (herbal treatment /massage etc). September 21 is the Alzheimer's day. The number of Alzheimer's patients are day by day increasing. Previously the cases were related to above 60 persons, but now a days patients at 40s are many. There are many centers in India for taking care of them, and one very close to my home. The modern medicine still doing research on this incurable (?) disease. I have heard that Music Therapy and Aroma Therapy are effective. But in most cases the patients have hearing problems and are less sensitive to smell, due to their old age. Anyone has got some experience in treating Alzheimer's using Crystals ? Can somebody suggest some crystals and the method of using it? I am a Reiki Master for past 8 years and use a GDV (Gas Discharge Visualisation) Camera for monitoring the Physical and the Mental state of persons. With this GDV camera (www.korotkov.org) , I will be able to monitor the improvements in the state of patient. So let us together start a study on Crystal therapy for the Alzheimer's patients. Guest guest
Greetings Suman, From a traditional Ayurvedic point being born on a Monday relates to the need to care for potential ancestral symptoms with the brain. The recommended gemstone for healing brain disorders is Pearl...though you can substitute with a milky moonstone...not blue. Of course there are many nutritional relations to Alzheimers as well as environmental factors....including aluminim toxicity from fluorides in water ( there is a conversion from aluminum waste to fluorides), also found in toothpastes and the aluminum in cookware..... Guest guest
Hi Folks, There are tests going on in the UK just now using Ginko Biloba tincture for alzheimers patients. The patient takes 15 drops of ginko bolobo tincture each day with a little water. The doctor shows the patients 10 everyday objects and asks the patient to name the items. The patients can tell the doctor all about the object but not the name of the object. The doctor asks the patients to name the items every few weeks and they have seen great progress with many of the patients. There is a history of alzheimers in my family so I take 15 drops of ginko biloba tincture each day. Bye for now, Anne from Scotland
Guest guest
Excerpt Olfactory Stem Cells & Neuroplasticity Provisional Patent: 3/31/98 US Patent Office by Rhawn Joseph, Ph.D. Brain Research Laboratory OLFACTORY STEM CELLS AS A TREATMENT FOR DISORDERS OF THE BRAIN AND/OR MIND, by Rhawn Joseph, Ph.D., Brain Research Laboratory, San Jose, California HUMAN STUDIES Dr. Joseph is therefore seeking patent protection as his discoveries are uniquely applicable to the treatment of brain damage and developmental and degenerative neurological disorders, including Alzheimer's disease and psychiatric disturbances. Moreover, Dr. Joseph's discoveries indicate that an abnormality within the olfactory system and/or in these as yet unknown trophic and growth promoting olfactory factors, may lead to neural degeneration, including disorders such as Alzheimer's disease. Indeed, one of the earliest signs of disturbance among those with Alzheimer's and related neurological deteriorative disorders, is the loss of smell, which, of course is a function of the olfactory system. In addition, patients with Alzheimer's and related neurological deteriorative disorders, initially display neural atrophy within the rhincencephalon (the " nose brain " ) including what has been referred to as the " extended amygdala, " i.e. the substantia innominata. The extended amygdala is a developmental and evolutionary derivative and/ or extension of the olfactory system, as is the hippocampus, a major memory center. Moreover, the amygdala and extended amygdala play a significant role in social and emotional recognition, including the ability to recognize and remember family members. The failure to recognize family members is also a symptom of Alzheimer's and related neurological deteriorative disorders. In addition, the substantia innominata is involved in the production of hormones and neurotransmitters important in memory, and patients with Alzheimer's and related neurological deteriorative disorders display atrophy in this nucleus. BrainMind.com ---- Excerpt Alzheimer's Disease & Mold Because the effects of toxic mold (Stachybotrys) are similar to Alzheimer's Disease [in such ways as the loss of memory and ability to think logically], it is possible that relatives and friends of toxic mold victims think that their relative's memory losses and mental diminishment are a sign of advancing age, or of the onset of Alzheimer's Disease. Medical researchers strongly believe that environmental factors help trigger what is ultimately a genetic condition. [uSA Weekend, Aug. 31- Sept. 2, 2001, p. 6] Mold contamination may be one of those environmental factors! If someone is experiencing memory losses and difficulty in thinking, the person's home, office, and other living and working space should be tested for the presence of toxic mold and other unhealthy molds. Unlike Alzheimer's that presently has no cure, mold CAN BE TESTED FOR AND REMOVED SAFELY.Visit: Mold Test Kit. In addition: the environment of persons with Alzheimer's should be living in a mold-free environment so that the effects of toxic mold don't complicate and worsen the already deteriorating mental abilities of residents of moldy areas. Below printed is an interesting email letter received by Mold Inspector about toxic mold making matters worse for an Alzheimer's patient. Alzheimer's disease is characterized by the gradual spread of sticky plaques and clumps of tangled fibers that disrupt the delicate organization of nerve cells in the brain. As brain cells stop communicating with one another, they atrophy -- causing memory and reasoning to fade Tangles and plaques first appear in the entorhinal cortex, an essential memory processing center needed for making new memories and retrieving old ones Over time they move higher, invading the hippocapus, the past of the brain that forms complex memories of events or objects Finally the tangles and plaques reach the top of the brain, or neocortex, the " executive " that sorts through stimuli and orchestrates all behavior.
