Guest guest Posted July 27, 2006 Report Share Posted July 27, 2006 I'm sorry to hear about your bereavements. I wish I had a recipe for dealing with bereavements ... My husband was orphaned at the age of 6. When he was 31 the Yom Kippur War broke out and his nearest and dearest friend, named Josef, was trapped in his tank after a Syrian (aka Soviet) missile hit it and he burnt to death inside right in front of my husband's eyes without being able to help him. Josef was the only child of holocaust survivors and my husband found some consolation in giving love to his elderly parents until they died of old age. Although 33 years passed since then he has never overcome his deep grief for his friend - I've tried every recipe in the book but without success. One night before a terror attack not far from where I live, I had a vision of Josef (I recognized him from pictures in my husband's album) coming into our bedroom through the window and getting into bed beside us. The next morning I asked my husband " Did Josef visit you last night in your dreams? " He answered " Yes " . Later on that day when we heard about the terror attack I realized that Josef's spirit came to protect us. My friend's son was killed in the Lebanon war 10 years ago and she is a teacher in a school were with many orphans of terror attacks. On one hand she tells me she knows her grief will never go away, but on the other hand the finds consolation in giving love to her orphaned pupils. One morning she happened to pass by a 6th grade pupil who'se father had been murdered by a terrorist and she felt the poor girl's broken heart so she stopped to hug her and they wept together. Finally she said " Just like my son's loving spirit is watching over me, so is your father's loving spirit watching over you " . I suggest you choose those crystals who in someway remind you of your beloved ones who have passed on. And I hope you will find consolation ... even if you can't make the grief go away ...
