Thanks > Peacock stone is the popular name for Bornite and for the most part the colours are real and caused by oxidation of the metals copper and iron in the Bornite. The 'aura' crystals are artificially enhanced by man by electronically glueing different precious metals to Clear Quartz. For instance the addition of gold gives us Aqua Aura and the addition of Platinum gives us Ruby Aura, and gold and titanium rainbow Aura. There are many different variations and the coating is stable and fixed to the outside of the poor quartz crystal. Rainbow Bojis should be stable too, the colour coming from the metals once again, but only in so much as the Boji is stable. They can crumble to dust so I would be worried if they started to lose their colour that the integrity of the boji was changing. Keep working with them and they should recover xx

I just want to know if some are authentic and some man made so to speak? Thanks > Peacock Ore (or Peacock Stone) is a name most often used to describe two different stone spirits - Chalcopyrite and Bornite, both Copper Iron Sulfides. Sometimes Chalcocite (Copper Sulfide) is also called Peacock Ore as well. The rainbow colors seen on these spirits can be natural, but many times (most times) they are not. The natural colors are essentially a tarnish, resulting from oxidation. However, most often the stones are chemically treated to produce the rainbow of colors. The majority of " Peacock Ore " one sees these days - for $1 or $2 each in rock shops and new age stores - has been chemically treated. Thus the colors are artificially produced. This is, unfortunately, true of many Bornites, Chalcopyrites, Marcasites, etc. that display a rainbow of colors. There are various ways to tell if the colors are natural or chemically created, but they're all destructive and, for that reason, I wouldn't advise exploring them. The chemically treated stone spirits have suffered enough. To me there's no sense is subjecting them to further trauma. As for Rainbow Bojis... I've heard mixed reports about whether these are natural or treated. Most people whose opinions I trust (and who have no financial interest in the Bojis) believe they've been treated. I suspect that at least some of them, in fact, owe their colors to chemical enhancement. Whether or not this is true across the board, I'm unsure. Many, myself included, feel like there are some real ethical issues around how Bojis have been marketed. And sadly, all of the " aura " stones are the result of very traumatic intervention by man. They are all articially treated. And, just as sadly, Quartz aren't the only spirits subjected to this harsh and unkind process. Danburites, Chalcedony Roses, Apophyllites and even Mochis have all been treated. Unfortunately I'm sure there are other spirits that have been treated this way, as the desire to capitalize on the " hype " around these stones remains high. Guest guest
I have had rainbow boji's for several years. According to information about Karen Gillespie who owns the property they are found on, the rainbow effect just happens on some boji's due to the minerals in the soil. However, it is sort of a coating and if you aren't careful with them it wears off. Don't wash them and don't get them around oily substances. If you don't have a certificate of authenticity they could be artifically done. All the boji's regardless of color come with a certificate of authenticity and they only come from one place, Karen's property. Guest guest
Hi there group, Actually Karen trademarked the name Boji stones. Before that they were known, and still are to those who do not buy direct form Karen, as Kansas Pop Rocks. Karen has some remarkable Bojis and wonderful info that goes along with it from the healing work she does. But you can find pop rocks in the same gneral area of her mound where she finds her " bojis " . They are a combination of pyrite, palladium, fossil and petrafied bone. Not all Bojis or Kansas are rainbow in effect. The rainbow effect has to do with the oxidation process, although some less than honest dealers have been known to grease them up with gasoline, lightly, to produce the rainbow effect...you have sen gasoline on the street and the rainbow effect, right? When a Boji or pop rock is examined internally it looks like a network of veins....anagolous to the deep roots of trees to the earth. They have a circular desent form as that is the form iron takes as it spirals its way deep into out earth by the forces of gravity. Guest guest
Dawn- > Actually Karen trademarked the name Boji stones. Before that they were known, and still are to those who do not buy direct form Karen, as Kansas Pop Rocks. > Thanks for sharing this. Excellent and very true information! Boji Stones, contrary to the marketing information, have been found long before they became a trademark and can be found well Karen's property. Despite the marketing information I have never experienced any difference between Kansas Pop Rocks and Boji Stones. They are geologically and spiritually identical. The only major difference is price. A lot of people take issue with how these stone spirits have been marketed. I can understand their upset. I don't believe people should offer Pop Rocks as Bojis, since Karen has the name trademarked. That said, I also don't believe that people should be fooled into believing that Pop Rocks are different than Bojis and that in order to have a " real " stone they must get a certificate and spend substantially more money. My experience, and the experience of many other people, hasn't found any energetic/spiritual difference between Pop Rocks and Bojis. I've heard about the " special process " the Bojis go through, and despite that I just don't find any differences spiritually speaking. And I hadn't heard about the Pop Rocks being washed in gasoline. What a sad thing to do! I do know of some various acid washes that are used to produce the " rainbow " effect, which are similarly used to wash Bornite, Chalcopyrite, etc. Again, not a practice I agree with as I find it to be disrespectful to the stone spirits and deceptive to those of us that Love them! Guest guest
Hi, Concerning: >>The Aura stones are All treated in a severe, harsh and drying way and no matter how pretty they are we strongly encourage people not to buy them.<< Even before I ever new about the chemicals processes the Aura stones undergo, I felt nauseated by the sheer sight of them - they always reminded me of artificial food coloring like the bright blue or pink icing on cakes. Concerning Boji stones – they’re recommended as super-healers, but frankly for me the best healers (especially analgesics and pain removers) are Hematite and Seraphinite.
