Guest guest
Hi all I think Dave has been treated a bit unfairly. He was asked by several people to give the information, and he has done so, and very honestly too. He doesnt tell anyone they must follow his suggestions or hold us at gunpoint saying " Break that crystal now " . Okay, if you dont agree, nobody is saying this must be done or that it is ethical for crystal people too. I really wouldnt follow his suggestions either, but I do believe he is entitled to his opinion without being called a murderous so and so. My message to Dave is simple I dont intend to follow your suggestions, but you are entitled to your beliefs and opinions and thank you for sharing. In regards to breaking crystals though, I have sometimes wondered myself, that I do indeed assist in that too, just by buying and collecting crystals. I imagine for every perfect crystal mined, many are indeed broken, and even ones I have bought have some breaks etc showing from the mining and distributing process. What about the crystals that are shaped & tumbled, is this terrible too??? I have a beautiful piece of amethyst geode, and have indeed wondered how big the actual geode was when it was in tact? Should I have bought this piece, and by doing so I really give my approval that is okay to break a spectacular geode into pieces? I guess I say, I didnt do it, and that I do love the pieces I have, so then it is okay (its a bit flimsy isnt it?). But I still think about these very issues some times. I recently had a lovely DT quartz from Brazil arrive broken in half, this may not have happened if I had not ordered this one. In spite of my wondering about the ethics of all this, I still busily collect my treasured crystals both natural shaped and man made ones like the spheres and tumbles too. I have made this point here, because I think there are some grey areas.... Love & light Liz.
