Guest guest
Interesting that I go through the messages and see a thread on Howlite! I work with crystals as I feel the need, I'm sort of learning my way around them. Earlier this year achieved third level reiki, and I'm wondering if this new sensitivity might have an effect on the " symptom " I'm having. I've been underneath a great deal of psychological stress, harboring loads of anger towards anything that breathes. It is affecting my family obviously, not in a harmful way, but the kids are getting very leery of mommy's " yellings " . It happens almost before I'm aware of it, like instinct. Yesterday while on vacation I picked up a stone, Howlite, made into a butterfly and hanging on a black cord. I have a friend who wears a howlite turtle, and swears by it. I love butterflies, so I though " why not? " I debated for a few minutes, and bought the necklace, remembering that the stone soothed my friend, but knowing nothing else about it. I wore it for a while with no problems, but by that night I had to take it off. An hour later I was ripping it from the cord, wanting to use the cord to thread my husband's new necklace. I put the butterfly in the computer bag, not able to hold it. Came home today, and I still can't touch it. It's almost sickening. I looked up the properties, and it is supposed to help with healing stress and anger, which I didn't know when I bought it. Supposed to " soothe " . Question is, why can't I stand to touch it if it is supposed to help what is plaguing me? It isn't ugly, I like the carving, but I can't touch the thing. I get a bad feeling. That's the best I can describe it. Now the interesting thing is, before I spied the necklace, I was holding a fluorite ball about the size of a shooter marble, and soaked up everything it had. It was really strange, I didn't want to put it down, but I did. Never had that happen to me. Any thoughts? Notions? Jeers? Corrections? All are appreciated. Thanks, Kam
Guest guest
I have found with stones, especially ones that have been set out for public display, they need to be cleansed, or have a time wher ethey are purified. Especially if they have been carved, (it is early so please forgive me if I am ramble a little) energies can get confused when they get carved and so what I have done is focus thoughts at the stone and tell it that it has been carved to help inhance its power to help. then I would put it in a dark place for a while with some soft music playing. I have found this helps the stones. when they are out for display to sell they pick up energies from everyone who touches it. I also feel there are some unscrupulous people out there that focus negative energies into stones or even program them wrong for a bad purpose. even the place where they were carved or altered could have had exposure to negative, angry energies. whenever I get new stones they get a time out for a while, I find this helps to cleans them. now for high stress I would personally choose garnet for stress, and smoky quartz to help me ground and then a piece of moonstone (I use rainbow or peach) to help calm, and a good strand of amethyst. now some I would wear and some I would wear in my pocket. now a side not I would wonder how is your vegie and fruit intake, and a big one water, do you drink enough water a day. Now flat out no soda and espessially nothing with artificial sweeteners no aspartame/nutrasweet, splenda or the like. it can cause mood swings as well as many other problems. I am also thinking that you might need a good sublingual b complex as well as some stones to help your body get over the slump you're in. I hope this helps and I hope I am awake enough to get this all out right. hope it makes sense have a happy and keep smiling Angelina

It's almost sickening. > I'm sorry to hear that you're struggling with anger. It can be a hard dance to unwind the cords that bind us up and cause us to lash out. I think your listening guided you to the perfect stone spirit to help you. As always our heart knows precisely what medicine we need, even if our head doesn't. It's important to trust you own knowing, to honor the wisdom that drew you into a dance with Howlite and to explore the messages this apparent obstacle in the road may be sharing. The stone spirits of Howlite embody and express an energy that often evokes a " detox " reaction within us. This can happen at a number of levels, including emotionally. These spirits can help us to purge the toxins within us, which naturally includes emotional toxins like intense chronic anger. The energy of Howlite tends to move in a spiral, ascending and descending. This spiraling presence cleanses as it moves, scrubbing the toxins out, bringing them to the surface and helping us to release them fully. It makes perfect sense to me that you may encounter some rough spots in your dances with this spirit. I know that most models found in books about stone spirits tend to place the " blame " on the stone spirits - they need cleansed, they need programmed, they need charged, etc. However, I think that's rarely the case. Most of the challenges we encounter have to do with dynamics within ourselves. Understanding that and reorienting ourselves to the experience can provide us with a profound chance at healing. The experience that you're describing sounds like resistance, that the spirits of Howlite, in working to cleanse the emotional toxins of the anger you're experiencing, have hit an inner wall of resistance. This results in an uncomfortable feeling that builds until we're no longer able to sustain interactions with the stone that seems to be triggering it. One way to work through this is to spend some time with Howlite, be willing to feel the discomfort and understand it as a messenger. Spend some time examining just how you feel uncomfortable. Where does it appear in your body? What emotions does it evoke if you sit with it long enough? What it is that's really " sickening " you? Is there something Howlite is revealing that seems too revolting to accept, thereby evoking the experience you're having? You may find the solution by being willing to sit with the " problem, " to work through the discomfort by listening to what it's saying to you. For many years I had a real aversion to the spirits of Peridot. Every time I'd get around them I'd have a bad reaction of some kind. I'd feel sick. I'd get anxious. I'd feel angry. At the time, from a place of limited vision, I'd blame it on Peridot. At some point it dawned on me that the problem wasn't within the stone spirits, but rather it was within me. By being willing to take responsibility for my experience, I was able to return to Peridot, greet them as a teacher and listen to what they had to share. There were moments I felt like pulling my own hair out or screaming until I passed out because I felt so uncomfortable. However, as the layers began to peel back I could clearly see that these spirits made me so uncomfortable because they were seeking to address some deep core issues, issues that I had no interest in facing at the time. So I hit resistance, felt uncomfortable and walked away... until I decided to do something different. When I did I received some of the greatest healing medicine and wisdom I have ever been given in my life. All thanks to Peridot... those green spirits that once would cause me to run in the opposite direction. <grin> I think your listening is perfect. I think you're dancing with precisely the right stone spirit to help. I think the stone spirit itself is just fine, not in need of a cleansing or charging or programming of anything else. I also find it fitting that this spirit reflects the message of Butterfly. In order to experience transformation Butterfly has to surrender itself, to release all resistance and experience a very literal death that results in rebirth... and the ability to fly. Of course I don't think you have to die in the literal sense, but perhaps a big surrender is necessary before a big transformation can be seen. The stone spirits that evoke an uncomfortable experience within us have just as much, if not more, to teach us as those spirits that naturally attract us and put us at ease. When we're willing to sit with that uncomfortable experience we can uncover a medicine that can heal us on all levels of our wholeness. The obstacle and its resolution can always be found within the self. Good thoughts to you on your way to becoming a Butterfly. <grin> In Love, Fabeku Caretaker, Crystal_Spirit list crystal_spirit_2/
