This makes it a shame for those who think they are buying, and paying the price for, 'true' Turquoise. And no doubt, many shop owners would be less than willing to have their wares subjected to any 'scratch', 'streak' or 'chemical' tests to proof the stone! I would like to believe, however, that if the person buying, and the person selling, are truly under the belief that they are making an Honest Trade, then the stone, within reason, will behave as closely as possible to the real thing. Howlite, in particular seems to be a particularly adaptable stone, much like a puppy willing to please! And it doesn't wet the floor in excitement! If you have been attuned to the Crystal Empowerment Attunements, then you don't necessarily have to have the actual stone with you when you run the Shakti! I know it feels better to have it in your hand, but when it comes to 'Healing', it is the Intent that is important. A mineral collector, on the other hand, would probably feel fully justified in exacting 'Justice' upon the perpetrator, innocent or not. For those who have asked about Turquoise changing color through use or over time. it is a very soft stone and its chemical makeup leaves it open to absorbing dishwater and other contaminants. It should be treated with the greatest of respect and not cleaned (the metal findings, Etc.) with harsh chemicals. Enough! Enough! Google your own research and print it out, or add it as a Favorite to return to. Remember, 'All things passeth away.'
