Guest guest
I have been reading the posts latley and I wanted to share my opinion on the diagnosing topic. I personally believe that we as people are getting labeled too much. If you are having a " down " day you are suffering from Depression, if you are having a difficult time grasping the concept of something you suffer from ADD or ADHD. No I am not saying that these conditions are not real because they are, according to the research I have read on ADD I should have been diagnosed with it as a child, but when I was in school there was no such thing as ADD and I was able to " cure " myself. Without being labeled I never was able to use it as an excuse to stop trying. That is why I believe so much in the power of stones and self belief. It breaks my heart when I see people who are diagnosed with cancer, or manic depression they quit trying to make themselves better and depend on these so called " cures " that have side affects that are more " crippiling " than the problem. I am trying to raise my daughter with the belief that everyone can find the strength within themselves to fix the problem, and if and when you figure out that you cant fix it or that you do need outside help that is when you seek that help. Just to clarify I am not saying not to go to the doctors for a broken bone, or for serious ailments ,including depression, just that in my opinion we should be trying to find the cure within ourselves, and that we are depending far too much on these " New " drugs to cure us. And just so that you all know I do understand the whole manic depression thing I was raised with both my parents suffering from it, My father did the doctor thing and my mother didn't. My dad went through all sorts of rollercoasters and all kinds of very dark places. Where as my mother didnt depend on the doctors and was able to pull herself up and dust herself off and recgonize the illness and recognize what she should do when she headed down that dark path. She is now holding down a full time job( her first job in 22 Years) and is genuinly happy with her life. So that is where I am coming from with my opinions.
