Guest guest
Betty January 21, 2010 3:13:52 AM EST Hashimoto's Disease - chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis Namaste. Thank you for all your previous help. I have been asked to work on a 50 yr old woman with Hoshimoto's Disease. She has had hypo thyroid for 3 yrs. The nodules in her thyroid are small, but her doctor told her they will continue to grow and eventually have to be radiated to avoid cancer. She has inherited an autoimmune problem and this is just one of many health complications she can expect. She takes a low dose of medication daily for her thyroid. Is there anything I can do to help her? Very sincerely, Betty ================================= Dear Betty, A Loving Atma Namaste. Thank you for your e-mail. Medical Background: Hashimoto's disease is also called chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis. It is a common cause of an under active thyroid (hypothyroidism). Hashimoto's disease also is an autoimmune disorder and causes inflammation, which impairs the thyroid's ability to produce hormones. Then, the pituitary gland attempts to stimulate the thyroid gland to produce more thyroid hormones, causing the thyroid gland to enlarge.
