health issue.

=========================

Dear Lori,

Namaste.

Medical Background:

The tissues of the body are surrounded by a colourless

fluid containing mostly water and protein. This fluid

is known as lymph. The lymphatic system drains away

excess fluid from the tissues. Lymph vessles drain the

fluid through a number of lymph nodes before emptying

the fluid back into the bloodstream.

Lymph nodes of varying size are found throughout your

body, and different people have different amounts.

There are more lymph nodes in certain areas of your

body, for example in your armpit there are around

30-50 small nodes.

Lymphoedema is a chronic swelling that occurs when

lymph fluid does not fully drain away from the

tissues. Excess fluid builds up and causes swelling

(oedema), because it is unable to drain away as

normal.

The symptoms of lymphoedema vary between individuals

and in severity. Affected areas of the body may

display the following: swelling, sensation of fullness

or heaviness, tightness and stretching of the skin,

reduced movement of the joints, thickening and dryness

of the skin, discomfort and pain, and lowered immunity

in affected areas.

You may first realise you have swelling in an arm, for

example, because your rings or watch feel tighter than

usual.

In severe cases of lymphoedema the skin may break

under the pressure of the swelling, causing the lymph

fluid to leak out onto the surface of the skin. This

can lead to infection, often known as cellulitis. The

skin becomes hot, red and painful, and you may feel

unwell and experience flu-like symptoms. Antibiotics

are usually needed to clear up the infection.

Lipoedema is a similar condition that is often

confused with lymphoedema. Lipoedema is the

accumulation of fluid and fat deposits under the skin,

generally in the legs. Occasionally there may be

swelling in the arms as well. Lipoedema occurs in

women and normally appears during puberty or

pregnancy. The size of the legs and/ or arms cannot be

reduced by losing weight. For example, there may be

weight loss from the upper body, while the legs stay

as they were.

Lipoedema does not normally change the appearance of

the skin. The legs may be very tender and ache around

the knees due to the excess weight. Lipeodema does not

affect the feet, which remain a normal size. The

swelling is symmetrical and this causes a bracelet

effect where fatty deposits in the legs meet the

ankles. People with lipoedema also bruise easily.

Lymphoedema can occur for no apparent reason (primary

lymphoedema) or it can occur as a consequence of

another problem (secondary lymphoedema). Secondary

Lymphoedema occurs when the lymphatic system is

damaged by surgery and/or radiotherapy (as in cancer

treatment), or as a result of infection, severe

injury, burns, or trauma.

In primary lymphoedema the lymphatic vessels

themselves are often abnormal. They may not have

developed properly, or their tiny valves may be

faulty. Primary lymphoedema is often hereditary and is

more common in women. Although lymphoedema may be

present from birth, the symptoms may not appear until

puberty (Primary Lymphoedema Praecox), or in later

life (Primary Lymphoedema Tarda).

Secondary lymphoedema is often linked to cancer. It is

common for areas of tissue, including lymph nodes, to

be surgically removed during cancer treatment. Breast

cancer treatment often involves the removal of lymph

nodes in the armpit. The affected area may then be

treated with radiotherapy, which can cause scar tissue

to build up and block the remaining lymph nodes.

Rarely, lymphoedema may be due to a cancerous growth

in a lymph node, which causes a lymphatic vessle to

become blocked.

The cause of lipoedema is unknown. Current research

aims to identify particular genes that may cause

lipoedema to develop in some people and not others.

heart chakra. Energize the heart chakra through the

back heart chakra with LWG then with more of ordinary

LWV.

and jaw minor chakras. Energize with LWG then with

ordinary LWV.

7. Localized thorough sweeping on the front, sides

and back of the lungs. Energize through the back of

the lungs with LWG then LWO then ordinary LWV. Apply

more localized sweeping.

8. Localized thorough sweeping on the front and back

solar plexus chakra and the liver. Energize the solar

plexus chakra with LWG, LWB then ordinary LWV.

9. Localized thorough sweeping on the front and back

spleen, the navel chakra, sex chakra and basic chakra.

Energize the sex, navel and basic chakras with LWR or W.

If the patient has fever or venereal disease, do not

energize the basic, just apply thorough localized

sweeping on it.

10. Localized thorough sweeping on the kidneys and meng mein chakra. Energize

the kidneys with W.

11. Localized thorough sweeping on the crown,

forehead, ajna and back head chakras. Energize them

with LWG then with ordinary LWV.

12. Stabilize and release projected pranic energy.

13. Repeat entire treatment 3 times per week.
