Dear Gunther,

Namaste.

Thank you for your email.

Medical Background:

While parents understandably may want an explanation

as to what exactly is causing a growth disorder in

their child, it is often the case that there is no

single reason.

A child’s growth depends on many elements, including

hereditary and dietary factors, exercise, severe

stress and social influences. A lack of oxygen to the

baby at birth can also have an effect on a child’s

physical development. Among the problems which can

stunt the growth of a child are a deficiency of growth

hormones, a lack of thyroid hormone and nutritional

problems.

Diseases of the pituitary gland (responsible for

growth), the brain or liver can also affect the

physical development of a child. Any serious illness

which is untreated or poorly treated can have an

effect on the child’s growth.

Among the many symptoms which may suggest that a child

has a growth problem is altered development of the

teeth, abnormal formation of the cartilage and bones,

and the development of a thick layer of fat beneath

the skin. Doctors and parents may also examine the

child's stools, as some children have problems

absorbing the nutrients in food.

Deficiency of growth hormone is a widespread problem

which affects more than just your child's height.

Normal levels of growth hormone are necessary for the

normal growth and development of your child's teeth

and jaws. Routine dental care and timely screenings

and assessments are important to your child's future

dental health.

The lack of growth hormone causes a lag in the growth

of bones, which is clearly evident in a child's

height. Less evident to most people are the effects of

growth hormone deficiency on your child's face and

teeth. Growth hormone deficiency commonly causes a lag

in the growth of your child's teeth and face bones. It

is common in these children to keep their baby

(primary) teeth longer (2-5 years usually) than

average, so they may be 10- 12 years old before losing

any baby teeth. This can cause problems with the

eruption (coming into the mouth) of the adult

(permanent) teeth. These children are also more likely

to be missing adult teeth which may require braces

(orthodontics) and/or bridges (replacement teeth) to

correct. If you should suspect these conditions it is

best to take your child to your dentist, who can take

radiographs (x-rays) of your child's jaws to check on

these conditions.

Growth hormone has a strong effect on bone growth,

including the bones of the upper and lower jaws. In

growth hormone deficiency it is common to see a growth

disorder of the jaws. This growth disorder is commonly

seen as a small lower jaw or chin since the lower jaw

seems to be more dependent than the upper jaw on

normal growth hormone levels. There are some

treatments that can, in most cases, correct these

problems if the jaws are still growing. These

treatments commonly involve plastic retainer-like

devices ('functional appliances') and/or braces and

are usually performed by dentists who specialize in

braces (orthodontists) or in children's dentistry

(pedodontist’s). Since the jaws usually begin to grow

in response to the growth hormone prescribed by your

doctor, this is often the best time for this type of

treatment. The dental specialist (orthodontist or

pedodontist) treating your child may determine that

the jaws are in good relationship to each other and

only braces are needed. In this case they may wait to

begin braces until most or all of your child's adult

teeth are present in the mouth and/or the jaws have

reached most of their adult size. If the differences

between the jaws is too large for braces alone then

surgery may be needed later.

Because of the effects of the growth hormone

administered by your doctor on jaw growth, it is

important for your treating doctor (endocrinologist)

and dentist (orthodontist and/or pedodontist) to have

good communication with each other. Although all the

effects of growth hormone on the jaws and teeth are

not presently known, research is being directed at

this problem.

Because the teeth of children with growth hormone

deficiency may be softer than normal or not formed

normally, they can be very susceptible to cavities.

For this reason it is very important to see your

dentist or children's dentist (pedodontist) every six

months for checkups and teeth cleaning. Fluoride (in

toothpaste, mouth rinses and/or tablets) is often very

good for these children and plastic placed on the tops

of the teeth ('sealants') is frequently indicated. A

smile children can be proud of can be a very positive

influence in their life as they deal with the other

problems of growth hormone deficiency.

Pranic Healing:

Sources - Advanced Pranic Healing and Superbrain Yoga

by Master Choa Kok Sui.

1. Invoke and scan before, during and after

treatment.

2. General sweeping twice with LWG.

3. Localized thorough sweeping on the entire head

area, the different sections of the brain and the

pituitary gland alternately with LWG and ordinary LWV.

4. Localized thorough sweeping on the jaw minor

chakras, the gums and the teeth with LWG. Energize

the teeth and gums and the jaw minor chakras with

LWG-V then with gold. Visualize the energy going into

the gums and teeth

5. Localized thorough sweeping on the ajna chakra,

crown chakra, forehead chakra and the throat chakra.

Energize them with LWG then with more of ordinary LWV.

Emphasis of treatment is on the ajna chakra. While

energizing the ajna, firmly and gently instruct the

chakra to normalize and harmonize the other chakras

and organs.

6. Localized thorough sweeping on the front and back

heart chakra. Energize through the back heart with

LWG then with more of ordinary LWV, simultaneously

visualize the chakra becoming brighter.

7. Localized thorough sweeping on the front and back

solar plexus chakra. Energize the solar plexus with

LWG, LWB then ordinary LWV.

8. Localized thorough sweeping on the arms and legs

and their minor chakras. Energize the minor chakras

with W or ordinary LWV.

chakra. Energize the chakras with LWR.

11. Localized thorough sweeping on the kidneys and

the meng mein chakra. Energize the kidneys with W.

12. Stabilize and release projected pranic energy.

13. Repeat treatment 3 times per week for as long as

necessary.

14. Instruct the patient how to do Superbrain Yoga

properly. Ask the patient to do 14 cycles.

Step 14 is part of the treatment. It may also be done

separately once to 3 sessions per day. One session is

composed of 14 cycles.

Precautions for Superbrain Yoga:

It is important to keep the body clean and not overdo

the Superbrain Yoga to avoid or minimize physical

health problems.

To keep the body clean, the practitioner also has to :

a.) avoid smoking

b.) avoid excessive alcohol intake

c.) avoid hallucinogenic drugs

d.) avoid eating pork, fish with no scales such as eel

and catfish

If pain or adverse effect is experienced when

practicing Superbrain Yoga, the practice must be

stopped immediately. Consult a medical doctor and a

Pranic Healer before resuming the practice of

Superbrain Yoga.

Love,

Marilette
