Guest guest
Dear Jeremy, Namaste. Thank you for your email. Your concern is understandable. On the surface, instructive healing and the type of hypnosis for which the previous teachers gave out warnings to students, look the same. However, as there are several levels of waking and sleeping consciousness, there are several levels in hypnosis. There is a big difference between using thought power to impose your will on another person and Pranic Healing. In the references you quoted, warnings were given against the misuse of power or using one's knowledge to dominate the free will of another person. The underlying cause of the warnings is the reality that thought is energy. The possibility of the misuse of energy by those who are immature or who are not developed is real. Advanced Pranic Healing requires training in basic Pranic Healing. In the basic level, a student is given a full explanation and experiential hands-on training on the techniques, concepts and principles of Pranic Healing, Karma, Meditation on Twin Hearts, and character building. These are taught so that the student will be more self responsible and raise his conciousness. The instructions in the Advanced Pranic Healing book by Master Choa Kok Sui are given to assist the patient's energy body to heal itself. The energy is transferred from the higher levels of cosnciousness. The patient remains in control. If the patient's consciousness or energy rejects the projected healing energy, the effect is temporary and neutralized. Love, Marilette ===================================================== Dearly beloved, I have only recently completed Basic and Advanced Pranic Healing, and I am just about to do Pranic Psychotherapy. However, I do have a major concern. In the Advanced pranic Healing book page 294 under “Verbal Instructive healing” it mentions using hypnotherapy, yet these other earlier guru’s, and mystic masters, spoke clearly about the dangers of such practises and how their cures were only temporary. Please comment if you can. Thank you Namaste jeremy Swami Vivekananda mentions hypnosis in his commentaries, “think of the mind like a team of wild horses, and rather than controlling them through muscular strength and taking hold of the reins, you ask another to hit them on the head to stun them into a submissive state for a short period of time. Each time another stuns the horses into submission the person loses an amount of their own mental energy. From continued regular sessions of hypnosis from another person, entering into this docile state, instead of gaining power and better control, the mind can become a shapeless powerless mass eventually leading to the mental asylum.” Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda Hypnotism has been used by physicians in minor operations as a sort of psychical chloroform for persons who might be endangered by an aesthetic. But a hypnotic state is harmful to those often subjected to it; a negative psychological effect ensues that in time deranges the brain cells. Hypnotism is trespass into the territory of another's consciousness. Its temporary phenomena have nothing in common with the miracles performed by men of divine realization Madam H. P. Blavatsky.
