Guest guest
Dear Namita and Girish, Namaste. Thank you for your email. Medical Background: Progressive Facial Hemiatrophy, Progressive Hemifacial Atrophy, Parry-Romberg Syndrome, PRS, HFA are synonyms for this disorder. The condition typically progresses over a period of 2-10 years and then stabilizes. In most cases, this condition appears to occur randomly for unknown reasons (sporadically). Studies suggest that Parry-Romberg syndrome may be a form of localized scleroderma. Evidence that support assertions of autosomal dominant inheritance of the condition are inconclusive. This rare disorder is characterized by slowly progressive degeneration (atrophy) of the soft tissues of half of the face (hemifacial atrophy); distinctive changes of the eyes and hair; and neurological abnormalities including episodes of uncontrolled electrical disturbances in the brain (seizures) and episodes of severe pain in tissues supplied by the fifth cranial nerve (trigeminal nerve) including the mouth, cheek, nose, and/or other facial tissues (trigeminal neuralgia). The lower part of the body is usually spared. In individuals with the disorder, initial facial changes usually involve the tissues above the upper jaw (maxilla) or between the nose and the upper corner of the lip (nasolabial fold) and progress to involve the angle of the mouth, the areas around the eye, the brow, the ear, and/or the neck. In most cases, progressive tissue wasting is limited to one half of the face, usually the left side. Affected areas may demonstrate shrinkage and atrophy of tissues beneath the skin (subcutaneous tissue), the layer of fat under the skin (subcutaneous fat), and underlying cartilage, muscle, and bone. In addition, the skin overlying affected areas may become darkly pigmented (hyperpigmentation) with, in some cases, areas of hyperpigmentation and patches of unpigmented skin (vitiligo). Many individuals also experience atrophy of half of the upper lip and tongue as well as abnormal exposure, delayed eruption, or wasting of the roots of certain teeth on the affected side. In most affected individuals, hemifacial atrophy typically progresses over approximately three to five years and then ceases. In many cases, hair abnormalities may also appear on the affected side, including whitening (blanching) of the hair as well as abnormal bald patches on the scalp and loss of eyelashes and the middle (median) portion of the eyebrows (alopecia). In addition, individuals with this condition also experience associated neurological abnormalities. These may include severe headaches that last for extended periods of time and may be accompanied by visual abnormalities, nausea, and vomiting (migraines); facial pain (trigeminal neuralgia); and/or periods of uncontrolled electrical disturbances in the brain (seizures) that usually are characterized by rapid spasms of a muscle group that spread to adjacent muscles (contralateral Jacksonian epilepsy). The range and severity of associated symptoms and findings may vary from case to case. Localized thorough sweeping on the affected area(s) alternately with LWG and ordinary LV. Energize them with EV. If the eyes are affected, do not energize the eyes directly; just cleanse the eyes thoroughly. 4. Localized thorough sweeping on the different parts of the brain, the ajna chakra, crown chakra, the forehead chakra, temple minor and back head minor chakra alternately with LWG and ordinary LV. Energize with LEV or EV. 5. Localized thorough sweeping on the throat chakra, jaw minor and throat minor chakras alternately with LWG and LV. Energize them with LEV or EV. 6. Localized thorough sweeping on the entire spine: from the base of the head to the end of the tail bone, and both the sides of the spine alternately with LWG and ordinary LWV. 7. Localized thorough sweeping on the front and back heart chakra. Energize the thymus gland and the heart through the back heart chakra with LWG and then with more of ordinary LWV. 8. Localized thorough sweeping on the front and back solar plexus chakra. Energize the solar plexus with LWG and LWO. 9. Localized thorough sweeping on the front, sides and back of the lungs. Energize through the back of the lungs with LWG and then with LWO. Point your fingers away from the patient's head when energizing with orange. 10. Wait a few minutes. Repeat steps 8 and 9. 11. Localized thorough sweeping on the spleen, liver and kidneys. Energize them with white. 12. If the patient experiences radical reaction or pain, immediately apply localized sweeping until there is complete relief. 13. Localized thorough sweeping on the navel chakra and the lower abdominal area. Energize with LWR. 14. Localized thorough sweeping on the arms and the legs with emphasis on their minor chakras alternately with LWG and LWO. Energize the minor chakras with LWR. 15. Localized thorough sweeping on the basic chakra alternately with LWG and LWO. Energize with LWR. If the patient has fever or has venereal disease, do not energize the basic chakra. 16. Stabilize and release projected pranic energy 17. Repeat treatment three times per week for as long as needed.
