Dear Lyndell,

Namaste.

Thank you for your email.

Urinary Incontinance due to over-active bladder and

weak detrusor muscles-

I. Medical Background:

People who have bladder control problems have trouble

stopping the flow of urine from the bladder. They are

said to have urinary incontinence. Incontinence is

uncontrollable leaking of urine from the bladder.

Although urinary incontinence is a common problem, it

is never normal.

Incontinence is both a health problem and a social

problem.

Most people with incontinence suffer social

embarrassment. Many become depressed and limit their

activities away from home, often becoming socially

isolated and lonely.

Physical conditions linked to incontinence include

infection, skin irritations and infections, falls,

fractures, and sleep disturbances.

Some 15-30% of the elderly population that lives at

home is affected by urinary incontinence. Another 15%

of elderly persons who live in nursing homes are

affected. Incontinence is a major reason for people

going into nursing homes. However, it is not an

inevitable consequence of aging.

Here is a brief description of the urinary system and

the process of urination (micturition):

-The urinary system is composed of the kidneys,

ureters, bladder, and urethra.

-The kidneys filter water and waste from the blood.

They excrete urine, which passes via the ureters to

the bladder. The bladder stores urine until you

urinate.

-The kidneys typically excrete about 1 to 1-1/2 quarts

(1000-1500 mL) of urine in 24 hours.

-The bladder is a hollow, muscular organ. The bladder

wall includes a smooth muscle known as the detrusor

muscle. The bladder’s size, shape, position, and

relation to other organs varies with age and the

amount of urine stored.

-The urethra is a narrow tube connecting the bladder

with the opening when the urine comes out of the body.

Surrounding the urethra are sphincter muscles, which

partly control release of urine from the bladder and

from the body.

-Although the bladder is able to hold about 1 liter of

urine, the urge to urinate develops once the bladder

contains 200 mL. As the bladder starts to stretch,

nerves in the bladder and surrounding area send

messages to the brain, via the spinal cord, telling it

that the bladder is filling. The brain sends back the

urge to urinate.

-Although you normally make the choice when to

urinate, once you decide to do so the nervous system

takes over and the process becomes automatic. The

detrusor contracts and the sphincters relax to allow

urine to flow. When the bladder is empty, the

sphincters contract and the detrusor relaxes.

You can stop or hold off urination by contracting

(squeezing) the external sphincter, which causes

relaxation of the detrusor. Urine is stored, and the

urge to urinate is temporarily stopped.

As you continue to produce urine, however, the

messages to and from the brain get more urgent, and

the urge to urinate becomes even stronger.

Urinary incontinence is believed to affect at least 13

million people in the United States.

That number may even be higher, and it is expected to

increase sharply with the aging of the baby boomers.

Incontinence affects both sexes and all ages but is

most common in older people.

Incontinence is much more common in women than in men.

A large majority of men with incontinence are older

and have an enlarged prostate.

II. Pranic Healing:

Source - Advanced Pranic Healing by Master Choa Kok

Sui.

1. Invoke and scan before, during and after

treatment.

2. Instruct the patient the proper abdominal pranic

breathing (6-3-6-3). Have patient do 12 cycles before

start of treatment. Continue during entire ph

treatment session.

3. General sweeping.

4. Localized thorough sweeping on the front and back

solar plexus chakra. Energize with LWG and more of

ordinary LWV.

" thorough sweeping " refers to the " divide the chakra

into 6-parts cleansing technique " from the Pranic

Crystal Healing book by Master Choa Kok Sui.

5. Localized sweeping on the bladder and the detrusor

muscle, the sex chakra, basic chakra and perinium

chakra alternately with LWG and LWO.

Energize the chakras with LWR.

As you energize the sex chakra, simultaneously

visualize the projected energy going into the bladder.

As you energize the basic chakra and perinium chakra,

simultaneously visualize the projected energy going to

the detrusor muscle.

6. Localized thorough sweeping on both legs, the

minor chakras of the hips and legs. Energize the

chakras with LWR.

7. Localized thorough sweeping on the forehead, ajna,

back head, crown and throat chakras. Energize them

with LWG and more of ordinary LWV.

8. Localized thorough sweeping on the spine and the

sides of the spine.

9. Localized thorough sweeping on the lower abdominal

area, the navel chakra, meng mein chakra and the

kidneys. Energize the navel chakra with white.

10. Localized thorough sweeping on the front and back

heart chakra. Energize through the back heart with

LWG and more of ordinary LWV.

Stabilize and release projected pranic energy.

Repeat treatment three times per week.

Recommend to patient:

1. Daily physical exercises involving spine and leg

movements like semi squats, rowing, swimming, etc.

Start slowly , gradually increasing the exercise time

to about 30 minutes per day.

2. No smoking, limit alcohol and caffein.

3. If overweight, reduce weight to recommended weight

range to relieve undue pressure on the bladder.

4. Daily proper practice of the healing meditation,

the Meditation on Twin Hearts. This will improve the

assimilation of projected healing energy, promote a

sense of general well-being, as well as substantially

cleanse and improve the energy level of the

practitioner.

5. Do pranic breathing for 12 cycles several times

each day.

6. During bath, use salt water solution as last rinse

especially on the affected area. Pat dry with clean

towel.

Love,

Marilette
