Namaste madam,

A patient has come to me with the above disorder.

Can I follow the treatment given in adv book under kidney regeneration

preceded by psychotherapy for all the chakras? Or is there any other protocol to

be followed?

Your information will be of much use, hence thanks in advance.

Namaste again for all the services you do,

The formula Chai Ling Tang has been used successfully for glomerulonephritis

and renal failure, and seems to reduce proteinuria, according to Jap.

studies (formula is called Saireito in Jap.). Look on medline for studies,

or google saireito.

Hi Z'ev

Could you expand on your concern about the " interactions with

steroidal drugs " . Are you refering specifically to Chai Ling Tang?

Are there particular herbs that are contraindicated for concomittant

use with steroids? I am asking not so much with regards to herbal

treatment for glomerulonephritis but I am interested to know about

any cautions when treating patients who are taking steroids for

whatever reason.

BTW, I couldn't find any info on the composition of Chai Ling Tang -

does anyone have this? Thanks.

Bupleurum and Poria Combination (Chai Ling Tang)

Bupleurum 5.0, pinellia 4.0, scute 2.5, ginseng 2.5, jujube date 2.5, fresh

ginger 4.0,

licorice 2.0, cinnamon twig 2.5, polyporus 2.5, white atractylodes 2.5, poria

2.5, alisma

2.5

I actually treated a pretty severe case of FSG with herbs but I am reluctant to

give details

as I stuck my neck way out on the patient's insistence -- she was taking mad

quantities of

pred but still leaking protein. The tx worked but both the patient and I

would've been

screwed if it hadn't. I basically treated the root and branch simultaneously as

it was a very

complicated case. It was a weird combination of Yi Guan Jian and Bei Xie Fen

Qing Yin

with lots of additions and subtractions. If another case came my way it'd

probably be a

different story, so don't take this post as anything other than an anecdote.
