Looking forward to a reply. Prakash Balgopal =============================================== Dear Prakash, Namaste. Thank you for your email. Medical Background: Lymphomas (Non-Hodgkin's Lymphomas) Condition: The lymphomas include several types of cancer that originate in white blood cells called lymphocytes. Although lymphomas usually begin in a lymph node, they can also originate in the stomach, intestines, skin or any other organ of the body. The specific type of lymphoma that is diagnosed depends on the specific type of lymphocyte that is involved, as well as how the illness affects the lymph nodes. The two main types of lymphomas are Hodgkin's disease and the non-Hodgkin's lymphomas. Hodgkin's disease is characterized by a specific type of abnormal cell called the Reed-Sternberg cell. This type of cancer can spread throughout the lymphatic system, affecting any organ or lymph tissue in the body. Hodgkin's disease currently strikes 5 of every 100,000 people, most commonly those in their late 20s or older than age 50. Males are affected more than females, and whites are stricken more often than persons of other races. Non-Hodgkin's lymphomas : Types of non-Hodgkin's lymphomas are categorized in varying ways, depending on the way they look when examined under a microscope. The age of the patient is also a factor: In Adults - Adult non-Hodgkin's lymphomas can be either " indolent " (slow growing, with fewer symptoms) or " aggressive " (fast growing). Indolent types include: follicular small cleaved cell lymphoma; follicular mixed cell lymphoma; follicular large cell lymphoma; diffuse small cleaved cell lymphoma; and small lymphocytic lymphoma. Aggressive lymphomas include: diffuse mixed cell lymphoma; diffuse large cell lymphoma; immunoblastic large cell lymphoma; lymphoblastic lymphoma; and small noncleaved cell lymphoma. In Children - Childhood non-Hodgkin's lymphomas include three major types: lymphoblastic lymphoma; large cell lymphoma; and small noncleaved cell lymphoma (includes the Burkitt's and non-Burkitt's lymphomas). Non-Hodgkin's lymphomas are responsible for the majority of blood cancers each year, affecting about 16 of every 100,000 people - or about 45,000 Americans. In adults, non-Hodgkin's lymphomas affect males more than females, frequently between the ages of 60 and 70. Whites are stricken more often than persons of other races. Aside from the specific age and ethnicity factors noted above, several other risk factors for lymphoma have been suggested: Genetic factors - Studies have found that patients with certain genetic (inherited) immunodeficiency disorders, such as Wiscott-Aldrich syndrome, may have an increased incidence of lymphomas. Viral infections - Research has suggested links between lymphomas and certain viruses, such as the Epstein-Barr virus and the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). For example, one study found that Burkitt's disease was related to the Epstein-Barr virus in nearly all African cases and in 15 % of U.S. cases. AIDS patients infected with HIV are also more susceptible to both Hodgkin's and non-Hodgkin's lymphomas. AIDS-related lymphomas grow faster and spread faster than expected, and the weakened immune defenses of AIDS patients makes them harder to treat. Environmental factors - Recent studies have shown a possible link between lymphomas and the presence of nitrates in drinking water. Researchers at the University of Nebraska and Johns Hopkins University have found that contamination of drinking water with nitrates (chemicals found in fertilizers) may increase the risk of developing non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Similarly, herbicides and insecticides have been linked to cases of lymphoma in farmers and others. The main symptom of lymphoma (Hodgkin's and non-Hodgkin's) is a swelling of lymph nodes in the neck, under the arms, or in the groin. Other symptoms may include: fever, night sweats, fatigue, abdominal pain, unexplained weight loss, itchy skin Prognosis The overall 5-year survival rate for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma patients is about 50%. A more specific prognosis depends on the type of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, as well as the patient's health and age: Adults - In adults with non-Hodgkin's lymphomas, the overall 5-year survival rate is 51%. Patients with indolent (or low-grade) varieties have a 5-year survival rate of approximately 60%-80%. In those with aggressive forms of the disease, the prognosis depends on the patient's response to the aggressive therapies used to treat the illness. When patients respond, nearly 40% can be cured; if not, aggressive non-Hodgkin's lymphomas can be fatal within months. Children - Most children respond well to treatment. Long-term remission is expected in 50% - 70% of Burkitt's cases. Include the following: 1. Thirty (30) minutes after completing the protocol given for leukemia or blood disorders, rescan the patient. If the energy has become imbalanced or dirty, repeat complete healing protocol. Do this rescanning and repeat treatment after every 30 minutes of doing the complete healing protocol for the first 48 hours of treatment or until the energy has more or less balanced condiderably. You may want to have another advanced pranic healer work with you on this case to give the healers enough time to rest by alternating or having shifts of 12 hours each. After energy has balanced considerably, repeat treatment 3 times per week until needed. 2. Patient practice DAILY the Planetary Meditation for Peace ( also known as Meditation on Twin Hearts ) with both feet immersed in warm water with rock salt or sea salt. This will promote a sense of peace and well being, activate and make the higher chakras bigger to improve the assimilation of finer healing energy, as well as prevent the recontamination of the patient's energy body by the diseased/used-up energy expelled during Meditation. 3. Daily salt water bath before practicing Meditation and healing treatment. 4. Follow all the given additional instructions given in the book pertaining to diet and practice of universal Laws.
