Guest guest
HI Trish this is master fe's archive response to Schizophrenia. in love and service Chris Kinross MEDICAL INFORMATION: SCHIZOPRENIA " Schizophrenia, a disease of the brain, is one of the most disabling and emotionally devastating illnesses known to man. But because it has been misunderstood for so long, it has received relatively little attention and its victims have been undeservingly stigmatized. Schizophrenia is not a split personality, but a rare and very different disorder. Like cancer and diabetes, schizophrenia has a biological basis; it is not caused by bad parenting or personal weakness. Schizophrenia is, in fact, a relatively common disease, with an estimated one percent to one and a half percent of the U.S. population being diagnosed with it over the course of their lives (close to three million people). Symptoms Schizophrenia is characterized by a constellation of distinctive and predictable symptoms. The symptoms that are most commonly associated with the disease are called positive symptoms, that denote the presence of grossly abnormal behavior. These include thought disorder, delusions, and hallucinations. Thought disorder is the diminished ability to think clearly and logically. Often it is manifested by disconnected and nonsensical language that renders the person with schizophrenia incapable of participating in conversation, contributing to his alienation from his family, friends, and society. Delusions are common among individuals with schizophrenia. An affected person may believe that he is being conspired against (called " paranoid delusion " ). " Broadcasting " describes a type of delusion in which the individual with this illness believes that his thoughts can be heard by others. Hallucinations can be heard, seen, or even felt; most often they take the form of voices heard only by the afflicted person. Such voices may describe the person's actions, warn him of danger or tell him what to do. At times the individual may hear several voices carrying on a conversation. Less obvious than the " positive symptoms " but equally serious are the deficit or negative symptoms that represent the absence of normal behavior. These include flat or blunted affect (i.e. lack of emotional expression), apathy, and social withdrawal). Who gets it? While schizophrenia can affect anyone at any point in life, it is somewhat more common in those persons who are genetically predisposed to the disease. The first psychotic episode generally occurs in late adolescence or early adulthood. Genetic Link The probability of developing schizophrenia as the offspring of two parents, neither of whom has the disease, is 1 percent. The probability of developing schizophrenia as the offspring of one parent with the disease is approximately 13 percent. The probability of developing schizophrenia as the offspring of both parents with the disease is approximately 35 percent. Onset by Age Three-quarters of persons with schizophrenia develop the disease between 16 and 25 years of age. Onset is uncommon after age 30, and rare after age 40. Onset by Sex In the 16-25 year old age group, schizophrenia affects more men than women. In the 25-30 year old group, the incidence is higher in women than in men. Guest guest
HI Trish This is master fe's archive advice on restless leg syndrome. Hope it helps. I would guess that the crushed vertebae have something to do with RLS too so this may need to be considered as just part of the whole treatment of the problem In love and service Chris Kinross MEDICAL INFORMATION: RESTLESS LEGS SYNDROME (RLS) " Restless Legs Syndrome is a disorder characterized by disagreeable leg sensations, usually prior to sleep onset, that cause an almost irresistible urge to move the legs. The only thing that seems to relieve the discomfort is to move the legs. stretching them or getting up and walking around on them. Unfortunately, this interrupts the sleep cycle, so people with RLS are often very tired from lack of sleep. Adults with RLS will typically have all four of these primary features: 1. The bothersome, but usually not painful, sensations deep in the legs produce an irresistible urge to move. Some words used to describe these sensations include creeping, itching, pulling, creepy-crawly or tugging. (These sensations may only involve a strong urge to move the legs. They may also occasionally occur in the arms.) 2. Symptoms are worse or exclusively present when the afflicted individual is at rest, and the sensations are typically lessened by voluntary movement of the affected extremity. 3. Symptoms are worse in the evening and at night, especially when the individual lies down. 4. Movements of the toes, feet, or legs (known as restlessness) are typically seen when the afflicted individual is sitting or lying down in the evening. This restlessness may be seen as fidgetiness or nervousness. Associated features of RLS RLS symptoms can cause difficulty in falling and staying asleep. Approximately 80% of people with RLS will also have periodic limb movements of sleep, which are jerks that typically occur every 20 to 30 seconds on and off throughout the night, often causing partial arousals that disrupt sleep. Because they may experience difficulties with falling and staying asleep at night, they may be abnormally tired or even sleepy during waking hours. Chronic sleep deprivation and its resultant daytime sleepiness can affect their ability to work, participate in social activities, and partake in recreational pastimes and can cause mood swings, which can affect personal relationships. RLS may be the result of another condition, which, when present, worsens the underlying RLS. This is called secondary RLS. During pregnancy, particularly during the last few months, up to 15% of women develop RLS. After delivery, their symptoms often vanish. Anemia and low levels of iron in the blood are associated with symptoms of RLS, as are chronic conditions such as peripheral neuropathy (damage to the nerves in the hands and feet) and kidney failure. Recent literature also points toward an association between RLS and symptoms of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder. If you have no family history of RLS and no underlying or associated conditions causing the disorder, your RLS is said to be idiopathic, meaning without a known cause. " PRANIC HEALING TREATMENT: (Note: not applicable if patient is pregnant.) General sweeping with LWG. Sweep front and back solar plexus and the liver. Energize with LWG, LWB, & LWV. Sweep front and back heart with LWG & LWV. Energize with EV. Sweep the basic & navel chakras. Energize with LWR. Sweep sex chakra. Energize with WHITE. Sweep the entire leg especially the hip, knee, and sole minor chakras alternately with LWG & LWO. Energize with LWG, LWB, then LWV. Repeat treatment at least 3 times a week.
