Guest guest
Namaste, I have done advance and psychotherapy course. My daughter is 14 years old and is overweight (75 kg). She is just less than 5 feet. Her menstrual periods are regular. On seeing the report doctor suggested only diet control and exercise and no need of medicines. I request you to kindly suggest pranic treatment for reducing her weight and increasing her height. Thanking you in advance, S.Rangamani--------------- Dear S. Rangamani, Greetings. MEDICAL INFORMATION: OVERWEIGHT " Except for those who are extremely muscular, people whose weight is 20% or more over the midpoint of their weight range on a standard height-weight table are considered obese. Obesity may be classified as mild (20 to 40% overweight), moderate (41 to 100% overweight), or severe (more than 100% overweight). Obesity results from consuming more calories than the body uses. Causes: 1. Genetic factors. Recent research suggests that on the average, the genetic influence contributes to about 33 percent of body weight, but the contribution may be more or less in a particular person. 2. Socioeconomic factors. These factors strongly influence obesity, especially among women. This is not fully understood, however, it has been observed that obesity is more than twice as common among women in lower socioeconomic groups as among women in higher ones. 3. Psychologic factors. Emotional disturbances, once considered an important cause of obesity, are now considered a reaction to the strong prejudice and discrimination against obese people. One type of emotional disturbance, a negative body image, is a serious problem for many young obese women. It leads to extreme self-consciousness and discomfort in social situations. Two abnormal eating patterns that contribute to obesity in some people, binge eating disorder and night eating syndrome, may be triggered by stress and emotional upset. Binge eating disorder is similar to bulimia nervosa except that the binges are not followed by self-induced vomiting. As a result, more calories are consumed. In the night-eating syndrome, a lack of appetite in the morning is followed by overeating, agitation, and insomnia in the evening. 4. Developmental factors. An increase in the size or number of fat cells or both adds to the amount of fat stored in the body. Obese people, particularly those who became obese during childhood, may have up to 5 times more fat cells than people of normal weight. Because the number of cells can't be reduced, weight can be lost only by reducing the amount of fat in each cell. 5. Physical Activity. Reduced physical activity is probably one of the main reasons for the increase in obesity. 6. Hormones. Rarely, hormonal disorders cause obesity. 7. Brain Damage. Rarely, damage to the brain, particularly to the hypothalamus, can result in obesity. 8. Drugs. A number of commonly used drugs cause weight gain. They include corticosteroids such as prednisone and many antidepressants, as well as most other drugs used to treat psychiatric disorders. PRANIC HEALING TREATMENT: Invocation and thanksgiving before and after the treatment. Scan and re-scan before, during, and after the treatment. 1.
