The muscle keep >>becoming lesser as we go down towards the feet and instead there is >>fiber. the stiffness is increasing day by day. she is mostly in the >>wheelchair now. >>Thanking you, Asha Agarwal (Ad. Healer) >>India (Kolkata) --\ -------------------- Dear Asha, Greetings. MEDICAL INFORMATION: ARTHROGRYPOSIS MULTIPLEX CONGENITA (AMC) " Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita (AMC) is a Neuromuscular Deformity. It describes the presence of " multiple joint contractures " at birth. The disease is not progressive. The child is born with the damage already done. As a medical term, " contractures " refers to a limitation in the range of a joint's motion. These contractures are accompanied by great weakness in the muscles, which further adversely affects movement. Deformities in the hands, wrists, elbows, shoulders, hips, feet and knees are all symptomatic of the classic case of AMC. The inability of the joint to move also causes the tendons connected to the joint not to stretch to their normal length, and this in turn makes movement all the more difficult if not impossible. In some cases, few joints maybe affected and the range of motion may be nearly normal. In the " classic " case of Arthrogryposis, hands, wrists, elbows, shoulders, hips, feet, and knees are affected. In the most severe cases, nearly every body joint may be involved, including the jaw and back. Frequently, the joint contractures are accompanied by muscle weakness which further limits movement. Arthrogryposis is relatively rare, occurring in perhaps one in 3,000 births. WHAT CAUSES THIS TO HAPPEN? Briefly put, " anything which prevents normal joint movement " before birth can result in such joint contractures. There are four general causes as to what limits the joint movement prior to birth: Muscles do not develop properly; the mother's uterus does not allow for sufficient movement; the central nervous system and spinal cord of the fetus may develop abnormally; and the bones, joints, tendons, and linings of the joints may not develop normally. The majority of children born with AMC are of normal intelligence, and a majority go on to lead rewarding and productive lives. For others, however, normal activities will be rather restricted. Many will need assistance all of their lives with even the essentials of human bodily care: such as bathing, dressing, brushing their teeth, cleaning themselves after bowel movements, help in preparing food, and assistance with eating. Some will be confined to wheelchairs for their entire life. It is often possible to correct some of the deformities with surgery. Sometimes legs and feet can be straightened. Research on animals has shown that anything which prevents normal joint movement before birth can result in joint contractures. The joint itself may be normal. However, when a joint is not moved for a period of time, extra connective tissue tends to grow around it, fixing it in position. Lack of joint movement also means that tendons connecting to the joint are not stretched to their normal length; short tendons, in turn, make normal joint movement difficult. (This same kind of problem can develop after birth in joints which are immobilized for long periods of time in casts.) In general, there are four causes for limitation of joint movement before birth: (1) Muscles do not develop properly (atrophy). In most cases, the specific cause for muscular atrophy cannot be identified. Suspected causes include muscle diseases (for example, congenital muscular dystrophies), maternal fever during pregnancy, and viruses which may damage cells which transmit nerve impulses to the muscles. (2) There is not sufficient room in the uterus for normal movement. For example, the mother may lack normal amount of amniotic fluid, or have an abnormally shaped uterus. (3) Central nervous system and spinal cord are malformed. In these cases, Arthrogryposis is usually accompanied by a wide range of other conditions. (4) Tendons, bones, joints or joint linings may develop abnormally. For example, tendons may not be connected to the proper place in a joint. Arthrogryposis is not a genetic condition and does not occur more than once in a family. In about 30% of the cases, a genetic cause can be identified. The risk of recurrence for these cases varies with the type of genetic disorder. " PRANIC HEALING TREATMENT: 1. Invocation. 2. Scan and re-scan during the treatment. 3. Apply general sweeping with light whitish green. 4. Apply localized sweeping on the affected arm and leg, and on the affected part with light whitish green then with light whitish orange for about 30 times or more each. 5. Energize the affected part with light whitish green, light whitish blue, then light whitish orange-yellow to regenerate the cells. 6. Apply localized sweeping on the minor chakras of the affected arm and leg for about 30 times each. 7. Energize each minor chakra with light whitish red. 8. Sweep the navel, sex, perineum and basic chakras with light whitish green. Energize with light whitish red each. 9. Apply localized sweeping on the spine thoroughly with light whitish green. Energize with white prana. 10. Apply localized sweeping thoroughly on the front and back solar plexus chakra. Energize with white prana. 11. Apply localized sweeping on the spleen chakra with light whitish green for about 30 times or more. Energize with white prana. This has to be done with care. 12. Apply localized sweeping on the front and back heart chakra with light whitish green. Energize the back heart with light whitish green then with more of light whitish violet. 13. Apply localized sweeping on the throat, ajna, forehead, crown, and back head chakras with light whitish green and light whitish violet. Energize with light whitish green, then more of light whitish violet each. 14. Stabilize and release connecting cord. 15. Prayer of Thanksgiving. 16. Repeat treatment 2 to 3 times a week. Love and light, masterfe
