Guest guest
Dear Felicia, Greetings. This is a " healing crisis. " This means that the physical body is reacting radically to the healing because a lot of diseased, negative energies have been removed and expelled and healthy, fresh, revitalizing energies are being absorved by the body. This is good. However, this can create a radical reaction since the cells and organs have not been properly nourished, hence not really working for a long time. With the surge of the fresh and healing energy, the energy body can easily be influenced and healed, however, the physical body takes time to absorb and assimilate the energy. It lags behind. Guest guest
several of my instructors told me that there really isn't supposed to be a healing crisis in chinese medicine. proper diagnosis and accordingly properly designed formulas will clear up the damp-heat, wind-cold, qi-stagnation, or whatever, and shouldn't have adverse effects such as vomiting. i guess the only exception would be if you wanted to induce vomiting... but this is a procedure which isn't often used in modern times... at least in the west. Guest guest
Where is the crisis exactly? I'm not a big fan of healing crisis either. If it can be helped. marie sepich <shamanist1 wrote:several of my instructors told me that there really isn't supposed to be a healing crisis in chinese medicine. proper diagnosis and accordingly properly designed formulas will clear up the damp-heat, wind-cold, qi-stagnation, or whatever, and shouldn't have adverse effects such as vomiting. i guess the only exception would be if you wan0ted to induce vomiting... but this is a procedure which isn't often used in modern times... at least in the west. Guest guest
Yeah, I have to say that I've never been one to buy into the idea of a healing crisis in Chinese medicine. I usually think that it indicates that something was missing in the treatment approach. However, on occassion I have seen people " get worse before they get better " , which is basically synonymous with a healing crisis. I used to think this was complete nonsense, but now I see that it does sometimes happen. In the case of my client with the orange stools I think both are true---I think that if I had circulated his liver more he might not have gotten sick. However, he has been much better since then---but that may be from some herbs I started him on shortly afterward.
