Good reading-I don't totally agree with everything, but a lot of good info here. Guest guest
I did not agree with everything he had to say, but get the basics of what he is trying to say. Our health care costs in the US are already out of control, and I know more than one person who simply can not afford the health care they need for their children. I have one friend with an Autistic son, with a heart problem and a daughter with a kidney disease and other issues......they have no health insurance, and make slightly too much to get any kind of help. It's a vicious circle too because they have to rely on places like the food bank to help them with food......well they are being given canned and processed foods, so none of that helps with the health of her children. She needs various medical care for her children, and has gone tens of thousands into debt to get it, but then it leaves no money for food.....so they eat processed food. It's all a vicious cycle. Now over here we are eating fairly healthy, but I can't afford all the organic produce so I try to buy local but it is raised using pesticides. Still we are far ahead of most of America over here. My hubby brought home those cookies last night that the dough is pre-made and you bake in the oven. I get so stinking mad at him. After the kids were in bed he got an earful, and this morning he gathered up the cookie dough, the receipt and took them back to the store. He had it in his mind that it would be fun for the kids and I to bake these cookies on Thanksgiving. He thought wrong. I make everything homemade. The kids get cookies occasionally, but homemade. So as much as I'm getting it.......hubby still needs some work.Kelly--- On Tue, 11/24/09, cyndikrall <cyndikrall wrote:cyndikrall <cyndikrall[RFSL] Nutrition in Americarealfoodsimplelife Date: Tuesday, November 24, 2009, 11:13 PM This article is way too long to copy here, so I'll just include the link.
