Guest guest
Hello Friends, I learned this weekend that Whole Foods is going to stop selling raw milk in Florida. If this can happen in Florida, it can happen anywhere. Please sign this petition to ask Whole Foods to continue to sell raw milk. Please sign it, even if you: 1. already get raw milk easily 2. don't drink raw milk personally 3. don't shop at Whole Foods 4. sell raw milk yourself Thomas Jefferson wrote: "All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent." Raw milk is a nutrient-dense, life-giving food, and is already difficult and expensive to obtain in many parts of the country. Removing this vital product from a mainstream marketplace will only make it more difficult and expensive to obtain, and cost-prohibitive for many. By signing this petition, you are sending a message to a major retailer that there is a strong demand for raw milk everywhere. Perhaps if this petition is successful, it can serve as a catalyst to making raw milk legal in all states! Pass this message along to friends! Post the URL below to your Facebook/MySpace/Twitter/LinkedIn pages, and on your blogs! http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/wholefoodsrawmilk/ I hope to submit the petition by Sept. 25, 2009, so don't delay! Thanks! Wendy Mathias Founder, MiamiRealFood.org Holistic Moms Network, Miami Chapter Co-leader HolisticMomsOfMiami.com P.S. In addition to signing this petition, you can contact Whole Foods headquarters directly to voice your disappointment by emailing customer.questions
Guest guest
I saw that on another list also. I believe its only a matter of time until all WF locations stop selling raw milk. I signed the petition already. Someone said they heard that a child got sick from raw milk in Florida and that's why WF is stopping the sales. I think retailers are looking for any excuse possible to stop selling raw milk-despite the fact that more people get ill from pasteurized milk than raw milk. Here in California we have had to fight to keep raw milk for years now. Cyndi bluereef1 <bluereef1 Sat, Sep 12, 2009 1:55 pm [RFSL] Whole Foods to stop selling raw milk! Please sign this petition. Guest guest
I'm glad to hear it-but I used to think the same thing out here. California is known for being progressive, but it's amazing how people with an agenda will try to take something away from you for their own profit. . Enjoy it while you have it. I don't believe it is truly safe anywhere. Cyndi Kelly Weyd <kellmar98 Sat, Sep 12, 2009 5:48 pm Re: [RFSL] Whole Foods to stop selling raw milk! Please sign this petition. It's legal here in SC. Guest guest
Excellent points, and all the reason for my petition and call to action. It is legal in Florida (when labeled as a pet food, not for human consumption), but once WF removes it from the marketplace, it's too expensive and impractical to drink raw milk as part of a daily regimen. The Whole Foods employees told me a child got sick from it, somewhere, but couldn't say where or how. The truth is, if it really were a danger, WF would have pulled all raw milk from their shelves IMMEDIATELY, instead of " yeah, go ahead and buy this *dangerous* product for now, but we'll stop carrying it at the end of the month. " They are TOTALLY looking for an excuse not to carry it. One alleged sick child story was all they needed. Where's the proof?? And why ban it permanently? Does WF ban spinach altogether just because Earthbound Farms had e.coli problems last year? No! And tomatoes and ground beef have had lots of problems in the past few years, but you don't see stores removing them permanently from their shelves either. Instead, they investigate the issue, find the source of the contamination, and go back to business as usual. This whole thing is a shame. Please write to Whole Foods directly at customer.questions, or call the Florida WF office at 954.489.2100 to tell them to continue carrying raw milk! Thanks! Wendy Mathias Founder, MiamiRealFood.org P.S. Don't forget to sign the petition and post it wherever you can!! http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/wholefoodsrawmilk , wrote: > > > And the few states where it IS legal have a hard time keeping it. if worse comes to worse, i think I can find some privately, but it's very far away. > >I believe its only a matter of time until all > >WF locations stop selling raw milk.
